How hard are tickets to get to the Friday and Saturday night events?
Friday - easy.
Saturday - hard.

They just pulled it from Charlotte
With all of the southern baptist mouth-breathers around Charlotte, this may be the first time any pulling out has occurred in the area.

New Orleans is reportedly favored to host the 2017 NBA All-Star game, which was originally scheduled for Charlotte. But the Big Easy isn’t the only location in contention. Brian Windhorst of ESPN: Several other NBA cities have become options if the league takes the step, including Chicago and New York/Brooklyn, sources told ESPN. New York and Brooklyn co-hosted 2015 All-Star weekend. Chicago hasn’t hosted since 1988. That difference might put a dent into my theory that New Orleans’ recent hosting history (2008 and 2014) gives it a leg up to handle the event on short notice, though there could be a sliding scale on experience. Interestingly, New York is the NBA’s largest market with Chicago near the top. New Orleans’ is the league’s smallest. I’m not convinced market size matters much for an All-Star game, though. What might matter: People prefering to visit New Orleans rather than a Northern city in February.

Duh. We are the perfect host city.
But I think almost every city in the league + Las Vegas is going to be all over this tripping over themselves to try to get in on this.

Yea but as the article above says, a lot of those cities aren't exactly pleasant to be in in mid-february and NOLA is tailor made to handle these types of events.
Obviously no guarantees that NOLA get's the bid, but I'd say it's a safe assumption that we are favorites.

I'll take it.. I'm gonna have to bribe my ticket rep to make sure I can get tix if this happens. Small bills, cash under the table right?

They aren't worried about the complex policy, only worried about their appearance of objection

Smart move by Silver and the NBA. Savvy.

Scott Kushner ?@ScottDKushner 2m2 minutes ago I am confident, based on many conversations, that New Orleans is getting this All Star Game. But the deal is not done as of this second.

They weren't hard to get (through your rep)- they were just expensive as hell.
IIRC, my rep quoted me $375 per seat for the ASG. My tickets were $800 per seat FOR THE SEASON.
Hard pass.

Yea I'd love to go to the event, but probably too rich for my blood. Aint about to pay 400+ per ticket for nosebleeds.
If I could get my seat in the lower bowl for that price, then maybe, but not for upper corners.

Barring LGBT people from protection under discrimination laws and refusing ANYONE the ability to contest in court when they are being fired due to prejudice is what I am against.
Private organizations trying to dictate public policy is what I am against.
Does the law need to be changed? Maybe, but that requires time and resources, along with indirect (or perhaps direct) consent from the public. Further, their agreement was with the city, and this is a state law, apparently.
This isn't exactly canning an old racist man that said old racist things. If they had a problem with it, they shouldn't have granted them the game in the first place.
