This is probably a minimum signing for the end of the bench.

That's what I thought too but the numbers don't add up to a minimum.

Unless that first year is minimum low and the 2nd Player Option year is slightly higher. Can that be done?

It can't be true because it hasn't happened yet. Unless you have a flux capacitor handy, you don't know.

And keep this thread about Gee please.

I'm pretty sure 2 years 2.5 mil was his min, so it was a just a little more than that.

Seems slightly more than the minimum, which I don't think is possible.

CBA FAQ lists minimums by number of years. Rookies count as zero years of experience so Gee should count for 6. The minimum for 6 years of experience is $1,185,784. Add a 4.5% raise in year 2 and you get a $2.4 million total. Now if he counts for 7 years, which I don't think he would since rookies are 0, that still only gets you to $2.6. Which suggests we're using an exception to just beat out other minimum offers like we did with Babbitt.

Pels Sign Alonzo Gee

How does KD feel about this?

I kid. I kid.

It's fine. The top 7 is set. He's a depth guy who's been in the league for a while. I'm actually encouraged they signed a cheap wing to fill out depth as opposed to prior years.

Alonzo Gee is a fantastic pick-up for the Pels

You want to know why Gentry might want him? Look no further than Blazers v. Warriors on March 24th. Gee pressured Steph full court all night

To me, Gee is the SG/SF version of Dante Cunningham. Going to have a lot of hard working, versatile guys on this team with little to no ego

MM with some interesting tweets on Gee:

Gee was not a great shooter at all last year, though he did shoot42% from 3 in catch-and-shoot situations in Portland.

Remember how I told you defensive versatility was huge for Dell and Gentry? The following is a quote from Portland GM Neil Olshey...

"Alonzo is unique. We have a lot of highly skilled guys that make shots on our team. But he guards 3 positions, he's an NBA-caliber athlete"

Other people brought it up, many people continued to discuss this tangent, its funny when the first person who brings up a view point different, you tell that person to keep on topic. You pels fans need to relax the frick out. I mean it sincerely.

Gee shot 45% from the corner in Denver last year. You watch Gentry's offense, and that's where the wings get a lot of their looks

Steph had 33 on 13 for 22 shooting don't know how good of an example that was. Here are his highlights that game. LINK

Basically what McDaniels could be if he doesn't learn to shoot.

Gee is essentially a vet version of KJ McDaniels. So you get what he would bring without the learning curve. I like it

Interesting. So he pressured him all night without results? Why would that make Gentry want him?

The more I read the more I like thi move. Defensive versatility on the wing is always a good thing. If he can continue to knock down the corner three then this is a fantastic move.
