I'd say you have about a 40% chance to make the playoffs next year
IF and that's a big IF we can stay healthy and make a few offseason moves I'd put that percentage around 60%.

We will make the playoffs next year in spite of Monty. But no way we win a playoff series if he's the coach. There's no way he can out adjust another coach in a 7 game series.

even without an upgrade at C I still think we easily make the playoffs if we find a serviceable SF. Ajinca and Withey have shown they can be serviceable on occasions and AD will be at the 5 in the crunch time lineup anyway. we don't need a home run hit in FA, shite with the current roster I think we'd be in the mix for the 8th seed at years end if healthy

You Rockettards have a hard realization coming next year when the Pelicans will be sitting higher in the standings than you.
As long as the Pelicans can stay healthy you have to realize the talent and potential on the court. There may be an early tranisiton period for our 5 starters to play together, since injuries hurt that valuable time of adjusting to each others game. AD, Jrue, Ryno, Reke, whoever Monty inserts at the 5th starter.

AD will be even better next year. League has been put on notice this past season. Next season he will be a top 4 MVP candidate.

Jrue and Reke will cause backcourt havoc, alternating PG and SG responsibilities making it harder for other teams to defend.

Ryno will be a top 3 point shooter again, with the floor spacing being maximized with AD on the court.

The only benefit from injuries was that our bench got a TON of minutes this year and helped further develop some good role players.

Add a wing defender and another C and you have a playoff team.

Our bench really excites me:

Rivers
Morrow
Babbit
Ryno
Ajinca or Withey

We also have pierre stashed away.

Even before the injuries, at no point this year were the Pelicans ever better than basically a .500 team.

Next year, if there are no long injuries that affect the team, I see the Pelicans as about a 45 win team, fighting for the 8th seed.

Yea I'll eat my hat if he finishes top 4 in MVP voting next year.

Above average backcourt, but far from one that causes "havoc". Harden and Beverly/Lin/whoever are easily much better.

See my last post, aint no Plumlee coming through that door. Pels will fight for 8 seed but ultimately come up short.

when was this? ryno got injured in preseason, came back for a little while then went out again. there was only a very small stretch where everyone was healthy.

Peltards said this coming into the season and Houston finished with a 20 game lead. The Pels will be improved but HOU will still be 10-15 games better.

peltards didn't think we'd have less than 10 games total with a healthy roster

I love how much in y'all heads the pels are. Pels are done for the year and y'all got the playoffs to look forward to but here you are. the fear of the future is obvious here.

No he won't. Else he won't be able to come and troll us every offseason due to making bets with more knowledgeable basketball posters after his Rockets peter out in the playoffs.
