How is Ajinca in the nba? This team ain't winning 40 games I'm sorry. I was optimistic at first but this is a very very bad team. Cousins and AD could average 25 a piece with Jrue averaging 20 and were still under 40 wins: that's how bad the rest of the roster is.

I'm not one to a judge a team by a few bad preseason games but this team is getting flat out embarrassed. Gonna be a long long season.

I'm trying to withhold judgement for now. We knew it was going to be a learning curve.

We are going to be granted the medical hardship exception. I think we need to put in a waiver claim for Richard Jefferson. If anything that allows Cunningham to slide to the 4 more often

I wouldn't be overly concerned about a team we play in 4 days. I'm sure the Pels aren't giving anything away just yet. I am however concerned about the depth, Ajinca belongs in the g league, not on an NBA roster. Don't get me started about the guards. Jrue is not a star, he's merely a starter, Moore and Clark are Bench players. AD and Cousins are gonna have to play superstar level this season if the Pels gonna make the playoffs.

We'll see, I just think that the biggest thing about our team going big is how are we on defence. Boogie and AD leave more spots on the 3 than most other teams, which is leading to a decent amount of open looks.

I'm wanting to see more of Clark and Allen on the floor to bolster the defense a bit. Biggest thing right now is our defensive rebounding, can't be this slack if we're going to play big. If we're getting smashed on the boards this much we might as well play alot more small ball and alternate Davis and boogie more.

kept on hearing how much more "aggressive" Darius has become. well he averaged a little under 20 mins a game this preseason and has only taken about 4 shots a game.

go look at his stats his 2nd year with us. you guessed it, almost identical. 16.1 mins a game and took 3.7 shots. except now he fouls twice as much as he did back then = aggressiveness

Whats frustrating is you look at the Grizzlies roster tonight:

Conley
Baldwin
Ennis
Green
Gasol

That isn't a world beater of a roster, and the Grizzlies have to play us same us having to play them, so the disparity is a bit concerning.

Why is everyone freaking out? Good lord. This isn't the Rant. Let's at least get 8-10 games into the season before we write us off. This is essentially a completely new roster.

I wouldn't say my post constitutes freaking out.

I said it was concerning, and worrisome, and it is.

It doesn't mean the season is lost, or that we can't come out of this blowing league expectations out the water.

If you watched that game in its entirety- especially the defense in the first half with AD and Cousins playing then you should be worried. Unless they were just throwing that one which it did not appear.

I agree with you that we need to take preseason games with a grain of salt. And that we at least need to give this team some time to figure out their roles and implement both Finch's offense and Erman's defense. But as stated above, last night was really really pitiful all round. Like you at least want to see players playing hard and being in the right spots. It's hard to take much from last night to boost morale.

It became obvious last night that Diallo isn't ready for NBA minutes, Miller hasn't seemed any different so far than with his first tour in New Orleans, and while we have improved our roster since last year, we still have a ways to go. My expectations are probably just too high.

Sorry bud. I wasn't referencing your post. You were just the last post at the time. More the "sky is falling" crowd.

Whatever we'd been doing prior Rondo injury has to be completely scrapped for a few games, but not so extreme to the point it's awkward to get him back. That's a tricky balance. Consider that from what we're hearing Finch is a huge part of our offensive system. Every moment leading up to the Rondo injury was learning how to play with Rondo and a passing big. Post injury, you have no one even close to Rondo to fill that role.

Can we bring Terrence Jones back from China? As is, we currently have zero backups 3-5 that are NBA playoff quality backups. Demps needs to find a suitor for that 2018 pick at SF. Solves two problems. Backup 3 and 4 as Dante can play either.

An already wonky team had to completely revamp their systems which were already new. Let's see a healthy team with Rondo out there before throwing the season in the trash.

So why would the entire lineup wear headbands and then Moore deliberately tosses his at the bench the very first dead ball? The headbands were all worn the exact same way- turned upside down. I don't have a problem with it but you can't actually believe that was coincidence.
