LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – The NBA’s Washington Wizards and New Orleans Pelicans will play a pre-season game in Rupp Arena on Oct. 19 at 7:00 p.m.

The game will feature three former UK players – Anthony Davis and Darius Miller from the Pelicans; and John Wall of the Wizards.

“This game will be an exciting weekend of basketball for Kentucky fans. They can start off the weekend with Big Blue Madness on Friday and an NBA game on Saturday,” stated Maury Hanks, President of Global Sports Management, one of the sponsors of the game.

“We are excited to partner with Global Sports Management to bring this unique event to Rupp Arena,” said Terry Johnson, Executive Director for the BSC. “It will bring thousands of fans to central Kentucky and be a terrific addition to our sports calendar.”

I wonder if FSNO can sell regular season distribution rights with AD getting ready to explode. I know a lot of LSU fans became Magic fans because of Shaq.

that game will also feature the possibility of Ohio St's Greg Oden to be in attendance on the bench.

The hillbillies are blowing up twitter retweeting this. The team is going to sell a ton of jerseys. It should become an annual event.

I will be at this game. Not sure how many tickets are sold, but will likely be 20K plus, and right after Big Blue Madness.

Honestly, I don't follow the NBA at all, didn't even realize the Hornets had change names. Why did that occur?
I looked at the roster, and it looks pretty solid. What's the prediction for this season?

It's the practice for the fans at Rupp. Always a sell out. Fans camp out for weeks to get tickets. This year there were over 1000 tents setup for a week before the tickets were allocated.
