Reports are Ajinca & Moore for Reggie Jackson.

I would love to keep Moore actually . Nice contract , 3 pt shooter . But a backcourt of Reggie & Jrue to go along with DMC & AD sounds quite appealing I must admit . Any takes ?

What else does this roster have after that big 3? You can't just sit and do nothing! They're bringing back the same exact team. It's not like they're giving a way draft picks

Absolutely fricking not. No. No. No. Maybe Asik instead of that 7 foot French fry, but Jacksons contract is terrible. DMC is our guy on the team that throws hissy fits. We don't have room for another one, sorry.

I'm torn. I'm not completely sold on Jackson, but I admittedly haven't watched him much. I do think Moore is a fine role player on a decent contract, but replaceable. Unfortunately, this may be our best option to improve with our lack of assets, and available space to sign players above the minimum.

I'm not cap expert, but wouldn't there be more to the deal than this? Surely, we wouldn't move $2.5 mil closer to the tax line ($16 mil for Reggie, $5 for Ajinca, $8.5 for Moore), while also reducing what little depth we have. Of course, other moves can be made to reduce salary, but it seems dangerous to move that much closer to the tax without a solid plan.

Assuming the trade happens as listed, that would give us-
Guards: Jrue, Reggie, Crawford, Cook, Frank Jackson (likely redshirt) (5)
Wings: Solomon, Darius Miller, Axel T, Quincy (4)
Bigs: AD, Boogie, Asik, Cheick (4)

That gives us 13 players with Quincy (DOA), Frank Jackson (likely "redshirting"), Asik (who knows his situation health-wise) and Toupane (G-Leaguer). That's a tough spot to be in, with little-to-no flexibility.

I was being overly sarcastic in my last post, but I really don't like him. He has yet to show he can distribute the ball and make guys around him better. That and it wasn't only 2 years ago when Stan Van Gundy gave him the keys and basically said this is your team. Now they're getting rid of him for what? He crumbles in big time situations. No thank you.

I don't get this fanbase:

Claim dell's doing nothing: complain

He does something: complain

I don't absolutely love jackson but it's a very interesting gamble and he put up PERs of:

2013: 15.5
2014: 17.2
2015: 19.6

He had a rough year last year but still was around 15

~$17m/3yrs for a dude who shoots 32% from 3pt? frick no.

We would be adding salary if we did that deal.

I'd rather sit here and do nothing than add another bad contract on this team for the sake of "doing something".

That doesn't mean we want him to do something bad.

I don't know about this. If Asik was involved I'd take the risk. Moore is a positive and Ajinca's contract isn't so big that it's a disaster.

Reggie had an awful year, gets paid big and has a terrible attitude. I just don't know.

Not lobbing for Reggie, but to be fair his last three years in Detroit he shot .337/.353/.359 from 3, with the last two years being his his attempts per game of his career.

Averaged 18,9, and 5 two years ago. Worth a shot . Is etwan better than instant grits or even Quinn cook? I don't know. If he is, it's not by much.

And has he had the caliber of Jrue/AD/DC to play with? Absolutely not

I can see why some dont love it but I also see the other point of view.

Holy frick... E'Twaun was not terrible for us last season, and he has a much friendlier contract than people realize.

I agree

I was one of his bigger proponents but he's not irreplaceable either

Might as well just expand Moore's role. He's a better outside shooter than Jackson.
