Job Summary:
The New Orleans Pelicans are looking for an in-arena host/emcee for all New Orleans Pelicans home games during the 2014-2015 NBA season and outside events as needed. The host will assist with all contests and promotions by following an in-depth game script that will be provided by the Director of Live Programming & Entertainment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Act as a Pelicans in-arena host/emcee with ability to project on a microphone in front of large audiences
Ability to engage with our fans and help in the planning and execution of partner promotions
Creative and innovative personality
Can create positive energy using both voice and body language
Attend game day meetings and on-court rehearsals held prior to all home games
Submission Details and Qualifications:
Video submissions must be sent to Entertainment@pelicans.com by COB August 22nd
Invitations will be sent to potential candidates that are invited to attend an in arena audition by September 2nd
Candidate must be 18 years of age or older to apply
Minimum of 1-2 years host/emcee experience required
Production/broadcast experience preferred
Working knowledge of basketball rules and regulations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have the ability to project your voice
Ability to perform in front of a large audiences
Can adjust and adapt quickly to situations
Ability to work with others in a fast-paced environment
Must be professional at all times
Ability to take direction and feedback
Flexible hours and available to work all Pelicans home games including preseason and post season if applicable
Ability to host team events
Ability to stand on feet for 3-4 hours per game
All other duties as assigned

Rob Nice was pretty good at his job. He will be hard to replace.

he left in March last year. The big easy balcony girl (I can't remember her name) was the emcee for the last 5 or so games

Rob Nice chose to leave the team for the Chicago Bulls. Didn't have anything to do with getting ran out of town. He left after the Lakers game when AD destroyed Gasol.
