When we on the 5 game win streak without AD, I thought the team was actually playing really balanced. The ball was moving well and we were playing good defense. AD come back and he is putting up just MONSTER numbers but assists go down and points in the paint start to rise. I've never seen ADs monster game come behind a blowout win. Like the piston game, he came bck from injury and put up great numbers but that game went down to the wire.

And why does this Omer-AD tandem not seem to work out defensively? Is it Omer, Ad, the scheme? Omer seems more effective when AD is off the court.

Does nola use analytics? Maybe the stat are saying something different...but i bet those numbers are quite interesting.

I know the game of basketball pretty well, but this has my head scratching...SOMEONE MAKE SENSE OF ALL THIS

For some reason when our stars are out Monty decides to do some real coaching. He really does a good job when we are short players.

The problem is this team isnt really built AROUND AD.

This town isn't big enough for reke and AD...Reke has to go.

Hasn't this tandem graded out great recently?

We tend to stand around and watch AD be AD. Not to mention, you are taking the ball out of Gordon's hands more. Without advanced metrics in front of me, I'd venture Evans usage remains constant, while Gordon's dips a decent chunk.

In a nutshell, there is only one basketball, and we tend to devolve into "get yours while you can" instead of "everyone is going to need to step up".

When AD and Asik are both on the floor the team's Defensive Rating is 99.6, which would be 3rd in the league.

This team's biggest problem is not having enough good perimeter defenders. Jrue being healthy would make a world of difference, Upgrading Cunningham with someone like DeMarre Carroll would make a big difference too.

I think there's something to this. Could Monty be a coaching slacker? Like AD is a crutch for him so he doesn't feel the need to design an efficient offense when he knows AD can get shots at will and Tyreke can bully to the rim at will? Even his rotations seem really erratic--which has always been Monty's most frustrating attribute.

I don't think it's slacking so much as leaning on AD too much to do everything when it comes to schemes.

Those 5 games without AD Gordon's usage goes from 19.6 on the season to 22.5 in the 5 game stretch. Tyreke went from 25.9 to 26.7. So they both go up without AD, although Gordon more than Tyreke.

+ infinity

Asik is the first major piece that is built to work with Davis.

ETA: Not to say they can't make the playoffs and compete with this core. Just it needs some revisions IMO

One thing to make note of is AD is still pretty new at passing out of double teams. He did have 7 assists last night. I think that will be a big part of his game going forward as he draws more and more attention.

Since we're still in the process of "building the brow" into this basketball Frankenstein monster who is impossibly awesome at everything, does one of these great passing big men like Sabonis, C-Webb, or Divac have a big man passing camp like Hakeem does for people to learn post moves?

Last offseason was AD developing that deadly jumper, is this the offseason where he turns into a passing dynamo and just basically becomes a human cheat code?

That does raise a good question though, what do we think AD should add to his game this offseason?

I would love to see him use the bank shot more. It's been a reliable shot for TD for years.

Maybe he can go to the Olajuwon School of Rim Protection while he's out visiting camps over the summer.

He actually talked about that in one of the many articles posted about him in the last month or so. They were talking about changing the form on his shot and how he now has a higher release point which gets the ball out of his line of sight and lets him see the rim better. He also talked about how often times the glass is easier to get a clear view of than the rim. So if he didn't work on it this past summer, he is aware of the advantage it provides.

Still waiting on that Twitter DM. A little shocked you know I have a Twitter as I don't tweet anyone but Moore and TBW, but it's ok. I just am kind of curious to know who is the man behind the mask.

Post moves. He is deadly with his midrange jumper. I'd like to see him add an elite post game.

Also he will be crowned the GOAT after the 2016 offseason in which he perfects his 3 point shot.

It has been written. Let it be done.
