Why would they give up assets for Holiday when they can just sign him?
Maybe Rubio could be had for a future picks, but I don't understand why they'd agree to a sign and trade when they can just sign without giving up anything in return.
What am I missing?

Because this would allow them to move Rubio for space, sign Jrue to the deal he wants, and pick up a pick.

I know it's a bit short sighted, but re-signing Jrue gives a chance at a much better team next season than letting him walk. Especially with the cap dropping $3m. Use the 2018 first to get a guy like Rubio and:
Rubio/Jrue/Solo/AD/DC + MLE guard/Moore/DC/Diallo/Ajinca would be a pretty legit team. Feels like a potential 4 or 5 seed.
If Jrue were to leave money on the table to go to Minnesota, then he must legit hate either the FO or NOLA. It would have nothing to do with his role as more of an off-ball guard because Butler would be running the offense up there.

You aren't using the TD beta? You can remove forums from the drop down list. I pretty much only got rid of the Soccer board and SEC rants.
And for all the drama/bullshittery of the Politics board, there's still a bunch of good discussion. You just have to stick to the political philosophy type threads rather than the "TRUMP IS THE GOAT" or "TRUMP IS LITERALLY HITLER" threads.
