OKC Writers trying to pump up monty

We got VERY lucky that the Pelicans were dumb enough to fire Williams. We also got VERY lucky that Mo Cheeks was still floating around without a team. That's one stacked coaching squad.

They may have overstated his firing, but they got a damn solid assistant coach out of the deal.

Not sure if it was pointed out in this thread, but Kendall Marshall signed with the Sixers, which pretty much eliminates one of the possible spots for Cole.

Has he still not signed with the Pelicans?

He has nothing forcing him to sign yet. The QO is good until October 1st and we can even extend that deadline to March 1st if we wanted to. Cole still has no leverage, the question is, how far is he willing to go to get some? Would he play or threaten to play in China for a year? That's pretty extreme, but you do have to start wondering if that's where this is headed if we get to camp without him signing. Holding out is really the only card left he has to play, and even that's a weak card as we would retain his RFA rights next season if he did.

Basically, he is only hurting himself at this point. While everyone else is getting to know the new coaching staff, he's holding out.

Like you said, he can go to China for a year, but that doesn't improve his situation at all, only removes a year of NBA experience from his career. I don't see him becoming another Starbury over there.

Hearing Amal McCaskill is becoming a very real possibility for the Pelicans as they try to solidify front court depth.

If you're going to take a shot at our depth, you should at least aim for the right spot at SF. We have a bunch of 2/3 and 3/4 tweeners who are probably better at the other tween positions than the SF.

There is nothing new about that tard. There needs to be an Obvious Alter option added to the RA button.

Hey, I have a suggestion for a fun night. I think you should do a dozen tequila shots and see how fast you can drive to Slidell and back. Don't be a pussy. Keep the petal to the metal. We'll time you.

just as an interesting factoid, not necessarily a potential pelicans target

If it weren't for Anthony Bennett, or rather Cleveland being Cleveland, we might not have Holiday right now. Whether you think that's a good thing or bad thing is debatable, but he might have impacted the Pelicans more than the Cavs or TWolves.

damn, you are 100% right about that
the reaction from simmons on the telecast was priceless when cleveland took bennett...

and then zeller & len went ahead of noel

what a shitty draft that turned out to be, giannis might wind up being the best player and he went #15
