Broussard said they offered him 4 yrs 80 mil. I'd imagine they'd let Tobias walk if he gets a high enough offer.

So there's been some talk on the twitterverse that Atlanta is going to struggle to afford keeping Carrol if they match Milsap's deal.

I wonder if QPon + Douglas's non-guaranteed salary (we could bring back $7m in salary) in a S&T would interest them. It doesn't sound like much but QPon has some pretty solid value, especially to a team worried about getting into luxury tax territory. And I wonder if $7m starting + max raises is enough for Carrol.

ETA: That would come out to Aminu's 4yr/$30m, so would have to include something else to send out since I'd be shocked if he took that.

I mean probably, but that doesn't really help us. They certainly are not going to be interested in Ryno, so we need to get a 3rd team involved if we want to get on Harris.

To me, it looks like we are going to sit back and see what shakes out.

Carroll was getting $10+ before Aminu got his deal. But I like the general direction your going. I like QPon, but he's needs a time share at SF, Carroll just needs a backup, so I'd have no problem turning him into Carroll.

Maybe we can combine your idea with McNamara's

S&T of Cole for a piece would be interesting if Dell could have Barbosa in his back pocket. Need to look for wings or bigs w/ 1 yr on deal

Quick ?: Since we are operating over the cap we can't use the MLE or the other exemption until after the moratorium is over right? So all we can do is agree to term with AD (check ) and our other free agents right?

I guess we will let Asik test the waters a bit and then re-sign him.

You can still talk to other free agents and discuss how much of which exception you'd be willing to use on them. You don't just sit on your hands. If there is someone that you'd like to give the full MLE to, you can let them know that and they can work with that knowledge. If it's what they want to take, you can sign them when the moratorium ends.

That's probably going to be the structure of Aminu's deal if I had to guess.

So we can still go meet with players, bring them in for visits, etc but we can't "agree to terms" with anyone until the 10th? Damn I hate the NBA rules. Just start free agency @ 12:01 on July 1st and be done with it.

Didn't expect them to re-sign him. I wonder what this means for LA, if anything.

And so if LaMarcus Aldridge is indeed San Antonio-bound ... trading Tiago Splitter looks even more unavoidable than it was

And San Antonio giving away Splitter is another thing that should drive Asik's price down.
