I know Cole is a RFA this summer and that we have his Bird Rights, but is it a safe bet he's on the roster next season? I have read/seen it multiple times now that it's believed he won't be back. The latest, per Hoops Rumors, is that he is eying the Cavs and reuniting with Lebron.

I agree 100%. Does anyone know if even likes New Orleans, etc.? I know he's not a guy that will break the bank in free agency, but I'm starting to have my doubts that we keep him.

He's gone. He actually increased his value here. But yeah, 90% chance he's gone.

Pretty sure Demps mentioned during the season that he wants to have Cole back next year.

I'd love to bring him back. I don't think that he'll get much more than his QO of ~$3.2m. With the cap about to explode, I would be surprised if he signs a long term deal, either with us or another team. Then again, assuming Jrue stays healthy, he may think that he won't have a big role with the team as a 4th guard. Regardless, I wouldn't rule out his sticking around for one more season.

Making an offer to an RFA ties up that cap space for up to 3 days. You don't make a hostile bid on a backup guard and risk not getting your guy and then getting pushed to the back of the line for backups. You'd have to have some reason to think the Pels weren't interested in keeping him to consider it.

All he can eye is an offer sheet being an RFA, and the Cavs don't have much cap space. Things can change quickly if they lose Love and/or move Thompson, but as it currently stands, they'd only have the tax payer MLE which is roughly the same as our QO to him.

I'd like to think he's going to stick around to be the third guard because I feel like Evans will be on the move which will open up things.

If a new coach tells him "We're trading Reke/EG", then it would absolutely be in his best interest to stick around.

On our team, Cole is the most cohesive guard with AD.

Yea, I'm not sure where he'd go that he would make much more than 3.2mil.

Thompson is a FA, so he will probably be looking for some money after this Championship run....him and Jimmy Butler would be my 2 young up and coming players teams will be eyeing....

Cole is likely to land in CLEVE, he's from there, he played ball at CLEVE St., and LeBron is there...also perfect fit for a backup PG role if they move on from Delly for some reason....

I don't see Cole sticking around in NOLA

He is a one year wonder who lost us more game than he won. He was just flashy in the games we won.
