Haw-nets games. Watching the "highlights" from tonight's win over the Mavs I got depressed to see all the empty seats. It made me miss the cheap beer, great entertainment, an overall atmosphere of the Hive. Where are the fans at? Even a state away, I wish I was there. Long Live the Haw-nets.

I hate, hate, hate threads like this. I'm going to the game tonight, but seriously the team sucks. Regular people aren't going to watch a horrible team. The Lakers weren't selling out in the mid-late 90's when they sucked, why would the Hornets? When the team starts winning people will come back. Until that time, unless they have a big promotion or a really popular team comes, attendance is going to struggle. People need to come to grips with that and stop trying to shame people into going. Or making it sound like this is only an issue in New Orleans. Every city is like this, accept it... rant over..

They'll come back. Uncertain future with status of the team and ownership, loss of a star, team cobbled together at the last minute and few wins will affect attendance anywhere. NBA attendance is down this year for at least half of the franchises.

I do agree the atmosphere is great. The beer prices don't matter much to me because I rarely drink more than one or two beers or mixed drinks at a game.
