Must-Watch FIBA World Cup Players (Pels related)

Fran Fraschilla lists his Top 25 players to watch in the FIBA World Cup. Two Pelicans made the list. Thought it might be of interest to some.

Omer Asik | C | Turkey

Asik is Turkey's only NBA player on the current roster, and "The 12 Giant Men" are not expected to get to the gold-medal game like they did in 2010. Early in the tournament, Asik will square off with future Pelicans teammate Anthony Davis. It's a preview of what should be one of the best frontcourt tandems in the NBA next season. It will be fun to see them go toe-to-toe in Pool C play.

Kevin Durant, during USA Basketball training camp in Las Vegas, anointed Davis as the next great NBA star. How ironic with Durant pulling out of the tournament, Davis' brilliance needs to come to the fore sooner rather than later. If the exhibition games are any indication, he looks to be ready for the role.
