I understand that people are frustrated, but absolving the old coach of all his sins annoys me. Not necessarily for the pels, but this argument has come up a lot with lsu and US soccer

You're an idiot if you think him not coaching has anything to do with ability or demand. He got out of coaching when his wife was killed and he became a widower father of 5 kids.

I still don't believe Monty was a bottom 3 coach. He was saddled with arguably the worst GM in the league who never gave him anything to work with. The one season he had a moderately balanced roster, he made the playoffs.
