Honestly, had someone told you Pels would have those injuries, finish with that record, and make playoffs... what would you have said about whichever coach led them to that?

Trust me, I've never been a Monty supporter (think he's a good coach but a bad fit, but growing on me) but looking back to beginning of season... would of thought he would garner attention with those results.

45 wins in the west with a team that was never healthy. He deserves credit. COY credit? No, but still...

If the injuries are the same, what does an "elite" coach get us to, wins-wise? 50? 55?
56 wins was 2nd in the conference.

50 wins means you think this injured Pels teams was better than the Mavericks team that was relatively healthy this year.

With a roster that's supposedly ill-fitting, and definitely never healthy, 45 wins is admirable.

Think about the end of the year... once we got rid of Rivers, Salmons and benched Jimmer we were tremendously better and still without key players being healthy. Imagine core roster for 82 games with Mavs level injury luck... 52-53 wins and people are blowing Monty for getting this young team to that point. Haha

Houston lost Dwight. Clippers lost Blake. Thunder lost Durant. Injuries happen to every team just about.

That said, it def is a step in the right direction for Monty. COTY? frick.

I watched the game for about 15 minutes total last night.

AD never touched the ball.

I don't know whose fault that is, but it certainly has to lay a little with the head coach.

What stretch did you watch? AD got a lot of touches last night. First few minutes of 3rd Q he didn't get many but I don't recall an extended stretch.

He didn't get a single shot from like the 3:30 mark in the 2nd until very late in the 3rd if I recall correctly.

A shot is different than a touch. He passed up a good number of open looks last night. Everyone did. It was like a massive push in the opposite direction of the norm. Quincy especially.

End of 2nd quarter and beginning of 3rd quarter.

I'm talking real time, not game time.

So it was probably the last 4 minutes of the 2nd quarter, and then the first 3 minutes of the 3rd quarter.

Still, that's too much time for him not to touch the ball.

Monty has problems managing this squad; he never seems to put the right pieces on the floor at the right time. The real problem is that we may not have the right pieces.

The only credit I'll give him is that Demps handed him a hodge podge roster that makes little to no sense and it's questionable how much better the team would be with a better coach. We'll never know.

This team is hanging with a team that hasn't lost a home game to a Western conference opponent in 5 months despite our injuries and youth. It might be time to cut the "Dell's roster sucks" crap by now.

I think this roster is underrated, but can be inconsistent.

I think Monty has improved with calling timeouts and sometimes getting Davis the ball; however, I feel he makes some poor line up decisions and fails to control the in game offensive philosophy.

The real problem last night was Monty's crowd noise comment. Made the Warriors play better and easily gave GS and additional 10 point edge. Fact.

Bunch of retards in this thread. Monty literally gifted away at least 6 games. Losing to the Knicks? Are you fricking kidding? That 4 (or was it 5) game losing streak late killed us.

A competent coach gets 50.

I don't understand why anyone would praise Monty for getting the 8 seed in the West. More than half of the teams in the NBA make the playoffs. If you don't count the arse-clown tanking teams like the 76ers, Knicks, Wolves, etc, then you're really looking at 2/3 of the teams making the playoffs.

Monty is a fricking joke. I'm happy we are in the playoffs but I can't help but fear that means we are stuck with him.

For anyone who wants to question my support of the team bc I dare to wonder if firing Monty is better than the playoffs (don't think it is, but close), I have 4 season tickets. Flame away from the couch
