Normal sized balls maybe, but balls larger than had previously been displayed. Hooray common sense.

Eh, not really. Its not like he was benching AD or Curry or something.

Ryan hasn't played particularly well, he isn't a starter, and he's had injuries.

It wouldn't take much for him to be benched.

I'm inclined to follow this explanation. The way he was playing made it an easy call.

That doesn't take balls, that takes a coach understanding what it takes to win, look at Dallas last night. Rondo played lethargic, looked disinterested, and Carlisle benched him after picking up his 4th foul.

Monty's issue is still proper rotations and setting the tone. We clawed back to down 1, dominated the boards and protected the inside, but Monty decides to take Asik out. That was the head scratcher.

I'm sure it was somewhat difficult on a personal level as well

This was really my line of thinking.

Yet according to us, Carlilse is one of the best coaches in the league and Monty is one of the worst.

Lemme stop before I become a Monty supporter.

How is that a good example? Sounds like Carlisle allowed a net negative on the team play for far too long until an illogical unwritten rule saved him from himself.

If he knew what it took to win, Rondo wouldn't have been on the court long enough to pick up a 4th foul.
