Memphis is supposedly fielding calls from multiple teams for Gay? Do you think we should be one of those teams?

Only his contract makes me say no. He's not a true #1 option so he shouldn't get #1 option money. But he has every skill and physical trait we all want our 3 to have. Size, length, athleticism, scoring ability, defensive potential. Has it in spades.

I think it is too early in the rebuild, unless you believe Gay is the final piece to bring it all together. That would mean your 3 stars are Gordon, Gay and Davis with Vasquez, Anderson, Rivers and Lopez being your supporting cast (depending on what Memphis wants in return). I think that could be a really good team, but it's not that young, except for Davis/Rivers. So how much better is it going to get? Someone also needs to be the alpha dog and no one on that team has ever been the guy. I don't know if that is a good thing or not..

I say we call up doc and break the news to him.

You guys lost your catleist. Go ahead and box up Paul Pierce. We have the cap room. In exhange for that old bastard, we will give you your son, henry who is waiting to go off, and miller. You have a couple playing cards and got rid of a big salary. What you say Doc?

You sure have an odd qualifier for young. Have to be too young to buy alcohol?

Ryan Anderson and Gordon are both 24. Vasquez just turned 26. Gay will make 27 this August.

Sounds like a rather young team to me.

Anderson is in his 4th season, Gordon his 5th and Gay his 7th. Most good players start to peak around season 4 or 5 and maybe can ride it out a few seasons. I would argue Gay is already past his prime and is starting to decline..

I've never heard anyone classify a player's prime as being relative to years in the league and not their age. So Anthony Davis will peak when he's 24? While Damien Lillard will peak when he's 27?

i don't think it's happening, and his contract is outrageous, but i would love to get Gay...

...Gordon, Gay, and Davis on both sides of the ball would be awesome.

gotta overpay at some point...moves for Brewer, etc. won't make us contenders.

Has Millsap been any good at SF? I wish we had a need at PF so we could go after him...

I think Morey has his sights set on Millsap. That's literally a perfect fit for both.

I would love to get Gay. Add Gay and sign a solid guard in the offseason and try to make a run next season.

I'm sure there are examples both ways, but you have to acknowledge that development is increased by entering the league early and playing there, instead of playing in college. So you reach your prime faster, but the wear and tear of the game (plus making money earlier) puts you out of the game at a younger age.

Your game evolves over the years, but to say a players prime is over before the age of 30 is rediculus.
