A lot was made of SAC winning their first game post-Boogie, but now they have lost 8 straight and are 1-8 since the trade. I know we're only 3-6, but it could always be worse.

So you're bragging that they will have a good chance to keep their pick and take ours? Meanwhile pels still suck and won't have a first rounder at this rate.

Yeah, nobody expected them to immediately improve. It wasn't that kind of trade for them. It was a long-term play for them.

They've been competitive as shite in just about every game.

The Pels will be more talented after the offseason with the trade going through than if they had not made the trade.

The bigger deal is that:

Tyreke in New Orleans:
9.5 pts on 40/30/77 shooting

Tyreke in SacTown:
15.4pts on 48/54/75 shooting

Buddy in New Orleans:
8.6pts on 40/37/88 shooting

Buddy in SacTown:
13.9pts on 52/51/87 shooting

Boogie in SacTown:
27.8pts on 45/36/77 shooting

Boogie in New Orleans:
20.8pts on 42/32/80 shooting

What does it mean? Could they be outtanking us but still being a scrappy team that is fun to watch like when we had DC and MT running the backcourt?

This. I've actually watched 3 games (casually) of theirs since the trade, and they have something to look forward to if they draft well and sign a solid FA or two. Cauley-Stein looks pretty fricking awesome.

Maybe they'd let us have Gallo back since they're not using him anyway...

very much so, no overpays, 2 picks this year and a solid foundation already in place.

they're doing a rebuild one step ahead.

The worst part about them losing is they could potentially block us from getting our protected pick. Our luck would be them getting 3rd and 4th from our pick.

I don't think that is really possible considering the current records at the bottom of the league. I think there is about zero chance of our pick being 4th.

Dave Joerger is the difference the guy is a winner at every level he's been at.

Funny thing to say about a guy more than 15 games under .500, having lost 8 straight.....

Eh. I get why they made the move. It's not indefensible to trade Cousins- the return is underwhelming, but that's more on them. A fresh start is probably smart for them

But:

They are tanking and cannot get the #1 pick this year, very unlikely to have even a top 3 pick. That's not great.

Their core is young and cheap, but not many guys with high ceilings. Suboptimal

Maybe they get 5/7. That's nice. They're still betting on the FO to pick wisely, spend wisely in FA, and then developing those young players.

And they lose their first in 2019 to Philly.

Maybe it works out for them- I hope so.i have a soft spot for them. But I'm not holding my breath

Or Typical Kings. The KMart era gave way to the Tyreke era which gave way to the Cousins era and now we are in the Buddy era. They've jumped from one rebuild to another because outside of Cousins, they've never landed a player better than Tyreke level.

That also says that if the Pels can't find a way to make AD/Boogie work...well there just aren't any words for how sad and pathetic that would be.

Did you forget what he did in Memphis? This will be his first losing season and he won in a championship in the other leagues he was in.
