Let's start with the obvious. AD is already (at 22) wrecking this league. He's has a good shot at winning the MVP and is widely consideredt one of the 3 best players in the world.

I know we picked up the last year on his rookie deal, but is it realistic to think he'll be here after last year?

How do we keep him?

I'm afraid that in an effort to "win some games now" and be competitive too soon, we made some bad deals and have set ourselves up to struggle this year and next.

Go Pels.

I don't think you know how Restricted Free Agency works.

Yes he'll be here. He'll be under contract through 2020ish.

Well yes, of course winning fixes everything, but that's what I'm afraid of.

I'm afraid that we can't win enough with the current lineup and with the current coach. Being in the West helps none lol.

I guess I should learn to live in the now and enjoy him while we have him (hopefully his entire career). But as excited as I was about what he did last night, I couldn't help let the idea of him running off in free agency kill my buzz a little bit.

We have to lock this dude up somehow!

Yea I understand. It means other teams can offer him but have the opportunity to match. I didn't realize he was going to be a RFA.

I know we largely suck right now, but a lot can change before that time.

Teams can change a whole lot in 4-5 years. No, I don't think lineups like this will be enough to keep him because I don't think lineups like this will give us the depth we need. But we have time to make that change. There's not that much room for error though at this point considering the hiccups we've had so far.

Step 2: Don't trade 2016-2020 draft picks so we can get more talent on the bench

it's amazing how much EG has crippled this team. between his injuries and ridiculous contract he single handily handcuffed our ability to be competitive
