correct this is not about Noel at all
I would not trade holiday for Noel in any circumstance
if that was the trade, even now, I would say the pels won it going away

I always looked at as if Jrue was our draft choice that year. The issue is the the other draft choice.

I think if Holiday had been healthy we look back on the trade as a win win for 2 franchises going in different directions. The real question is does Demps still do the trade with full medical disclosure, or do we at least not have to give up the 2nd pick. The NBA's penalty for this is completely inadequate because a full disclosure most certainly would have changed the trade pieces if not nixed it entirely.

My guess is the NBA's reasoning for $3 million is the Pelicans could buy a 1st, which we were rumored to do, but the new CBA completely changes the equation for buying picks and #27-28 is a far cry from #10. I know the league doesn't want this kind of inter-team, inter-owner fighting made public, but I really hope there is enough of a lul in the news cycle before FA that the national guys run with this about how Philly's fraud is hindering the team building around the league's next SuperStar.

Some retard fan from the 76ers board in regards to the Jue/3mill situation. It's amazing how delusional fans can become. Even more amazing how many of them actually use the phrase "Trust The Process" like it's a verse from a holy scripture written during magical times.

"This is all just politics the typical smear which only happens to the candidates the other side is afraid of. Take heart we are getting close and they are getting worried. All this is just smoke and mirrors or at worst a warning shot by the league across the bow. Same with players association investigation. If it causes Sam to spend in free agency so much the better. When we are winning and the building is full all the noise about shared revenue will go away too"

Pretty funny and scary if you ask me.

That's the Philadelphia fan base, probably the worst across all sports.

Yeah, even over Boston. At least they have those funny accents.

BOS/NE has titles at least so they can brag a bit.

PHI has nothing outside of a phillies WS win 7 years ago.

Phillies are being run into the ground,Eagles have chip kelly,Sixers are a joke.

They have no room to speak tbh

Am I missing something? Did you post a pic or link to a post on their board then take it down?

What a bizarre situation

And I now have an even greater reason to hate the 76ers

I was OK, not thrilled or happy, with the 2nd pick. Pricey, but not the end of the world.

To me, the biggest problem was following it up with the Evans move. That much $$ tied up in three players, all roughly playing the same role, was a head scratcher. Toss in Monty's system and desire to slow things down too. To me, it seems like it should have been Evans or Holiday w/ Gordon. Or both w/o Gordon.

Gentry's system/tempo should get more out of them And Gordon seems to have accepted more of an off ball role. Gordon was fairly wretched until Holiday went down though. Who knows? Again, maybe the system will keep him more involved than we saw last year.

That's a fair point. BTW, I was talking to a Knicks' fan who lives in N.O., and he was saying he thinks the Pels need more help in the back court. I didn't give him too much shite in response because he's still trying to adjust to Porzingis.

Pelicans probably knew it. Just wanted the cash. Just like how we sale almost every draft pick.

you know a healthy Jrue giving us more win shares wouldn't have put us close to the playoffs two years ago, and might not have gotten past Dallas's seed last year...

just hope he gets healthy to run the point for a badass team. we really needed him at times last year

Here is the thing, we can't move Jrue even if we wanted to now. The league isn't factoring that at all into the equation. What happens if he is never close to 100% moving forward missing 50% of his games?
