That Bird Writes article really sold me on it.

I'd much rather keep Monty than get Van Gundy. He's by far the worst option.

There are no perfect or "can't miss" candidates out there. JVG is a credible possibity. I wouldn't be unhappy with the hire. Who the frick knows though?

I think we've successfully avoided the Don't Want candidates. Now it's about letting Demps pick the coach he thinks can maximize this roster and his vision for it.

Anybody saying JVG is the worst case scenario is seriously huffing paint thinner. He's probably the lowest floor/highest ceiling candidate. Even moreso than Thibs IMO because he doesn't come with the grating personality and the overplaying issues.

I'm all in.

I think that he'll add the buzz this franchise needs. He is a defensive minded coach yet keeps up with the boom in analytics. Whether you like him or not, it is hard to argue that he always builds his team around the personal, which means no more complaining about AD getting enough touches.

He's already turned down multiple HC opportunities, yet he's interested in us. He understands the buzz and sees an opportunity to be part of something great. Plus, if he really is mired in his old ways, that will be fleshed out in the interview process. It's a Win/win proposition.

Is he the first choice? No, probably not, but put it on record. I'll personally drive JVG band wagon. All are welcome, but hurry. I feel like the seats will fill up quick.

I also think the fact that ESPN is reporting he's interested when he works for ESPN bodes well for all of this being accurate. I wonder if he'll wait until after he's done with the Finals broadcast to sit down with Mickey and Dell?

They just said if the Cavs and Warriors both sweep (likely), then there will be a 9 day break between the end of those series and the NBA finals. He may meet with them then.

Van Gundy would be ideal in NO

The defense would be an instant upgrade.

Van Gundy would be a big get! He has analyzed alomost every team as a broadcaster. A great x and o guy...Thibs is the grasshopper while Van is the master. I can see it now....The brow is driving the Van! Also Babbitt and Andersonbecome top players in this offense

People who are worried about JVG's offense need to realize that he knows you need to run the offense through your superstar.

He isn't going to let Tyreke be the one to derp it up at the last second. I can guarantee you that.

JVG would be a sensational hire. In terms of elevating the teams level of play and exposure, there are few who could do better.
