He’s going to be waived by the nuggets with their addition of Richard Jefferson. He’s also familiar with the style of play that Finch wants the Pelicans to play- and he was their starting point guard. Averaged 9 points and 5 assists in 27 minutes last season.

I say sign this man... we have to be eligible to sign another player with all these injuries am I right?

Wouldn't be a horrible backup honesty.

Would honestly be a great pick up. That was Jrue can stay at SG like they planned all along.

Nelson/Jrue/Moore/AD/Cousins as your starting 5.
Cunningham can either back up the 3 or play more 4.

You’d have to dump Crawford to sign him but Nelson probably can help the team more. Especially with his familiarity with Finch.

With Asik, Rondo, FJ, and Solo all injured we should get the medical hardship exception and be granted a 16th roster spot.

EDIT: Just went back to read the rules. A team is granted the exception when at least 4 players are sick or injured for two weeks and each player must miss at least 3 consecutive games during that stretch.

So we cannot use the provision until October 20th (Rondo went down on the 6th). That is if preseason games count (which idk why they would not).

Damn I didn’t realize Jameer will be 36yo this season.... I’m getting old

Wouldn’t be a bad pick up. Would still like someone that could stroke it for more than 36% from the arc as a pick up, but that isn’t going to happen

Yeah, I forgot about that, but that's just a temporary deal until Rondo comes back. Does anyone remember seeing how far back they pushed the guarantee on Crawford's deal? I want to say I remember November but all I can find is TBW referencing an ESPN Insider article saying "beyond opening night" If you got a few weeks to test drive Nelson and pick whether you keep him or Crawford, that'd be ideal.

I would cut Crawford for Nelson. Neither would play a large role when the team is fully healthy, but Nelson could help more than Crawford while Rondo is out IMO.

Am I the only one that thinks cutting Crawford for a 36 year old pg would be foolish? I'd rather have the energy that Crawford brings off the bench.
