WTF was Dell thinking after seeing Asik for a full season and giving him that money?

"i gave up assets for him. if i don't re-sign him, then i will look bad"

seriously it was just an optics/hubris move. he made a bad deal and didn't want to admit it or let people call him out on it

And WTF is Billy King doing giving advice. Isn't that dude like the worst GM of all time?

I think any team with AD and Cousins for a full(ish) season will be a playoff contending team in pretty much any year.

that should be right and has to be the hope. it will take time to build around that duo since the roster is so barren.

but if it's not, burn the whole thing down...which may kill basketball in NO

The interview was him explaining how the Nets screwed up so badly in giving Boston all of the assets. Long story, short - He said the owner wanted marquee players for the move to Brooklyn and said money was not an option. They worked on getting Pierce for Brooks and a #1. Owner came back and said to get Garnett as well and that is what snowballed into the major trade. He said he regretted the "swap rights" transferred. After a season or so, the owner told him to cut salary and not pay Pierce what he wanted, so Pierce walked for nothing. That is what led to the discussion of losing assets with no return.
