If AD can stay healthy, carrying the load will be good for him

This roster might force AD to become the creator he hasn't been so far. Does an AD that averages 28/12/2.5/2.5 attract another star?

Nothing good can come from your superstar scoring 50 and the team still loses

Here's to Lauren's speedy recovery and Jrue coming back soon to wreck shop with this basketball Alien known as AD

I don't think his numbers really matter to guys around the league, at this point, they know who he is. I'm sure they'd love to play with him. In N.O. though?

He won't last 50 games having to carry us like this though.

He'll become bitter, like 06 Kobe.

And then we'll trade Tyreke, Cunningham, and Diallo (our Marc Gasol) for some postseason tested, star-quality big man (our Pau Gasol)

Championships.

If he has a superstar year, it may attract a good GM and Coach, which may attract some good players.

Look as bad as this sounds but Lauren holidays speedy recovery has nothing to do about the long term future of this team. Yeah, if jrue comes back we might win a few more games, but will those few games matter? No. We need to lose games from here on out. I've never been a proponent of tanking but my god that's what this team needs.

Anthony Davis is gone after 3 years unless a drastic miracle happens and we start signing stars, which won't happen. He deserves a shot to win and it's not going to be in New Orleans. We still have him though. You want to please him but you also want to build through the draft to save the damn franchise in the long run.

At this point.. I wouldn't be upset with Evans and holiday being out for extended periods of time. We need top draft picks or else 7 years from now we will be talking about the same old same old.

So the star thing is silly, imo. And, assuming they can Demps/Gentry, no name gm/coach is signing on in NO w/ Davis FA shadow and Loomis/Benson weirdness

But the exciting thing was how much more comfortable he looked tonight passing, attacking, making moves. Obviously won't have it going like this most nights, but he looked much more like a #1 option.

For all the hand wringing about last year, I still believe those reps/failures were part of a necessary evolution

He will demand trade like Paul did

He might, but he won't have the leverage for that for 3 years. The end of the 3rd offseason from now would be equivalent to where they traded Paul, so they've got 3 more years of moves to make to convince AD he can win here.

I never thought someone would bring the tank out after one game

This roster is terrible though!

Yeah it's beyond early for that type of thought process.

This is not a team that has the luxury of thinking short term.

Why because they lost their first game? There are only a handful of teams that have a chance to win it all this year. Yeah we aren't close to that group but there is time to let younger guys develop before jumping off a bridge.
