Gordon did not participate in any contact work during the first week of training camp, and Coach Monty Williams said Monday it's unlikely Gordon will see the floor much this week as well. The Hornets play three exhibition games in four days this week, beginning Tuesday night when New Orleans' hosts the Charlotte Bobcats in New Orleans Arena.

"We're going to limit him still," Williams said Monday. "I think we'll know more about Eric next week when we start to ramp him up a little bit on the floor. He's been involved in our walk-throughs. He's participated in a lot of our exercises. But I think we're erring on the side of caution right now."

Williams would not go as far as to say Gordon would see any contact work next week as the Hornets have only one game scheduled, Oct. 18 at Atlanta, and six practices on the calendar.

"I'd hate to say it and it not happen," Williams said. "Ideally, yeah, but I'm not sure if that's going to happen. I would say week after next would be a time when we'd probably get him out there and see what he can do a little bit."

Wants us to trade him back to his heart city...

or is just a big waste.

I want to know what we can get for him and keep Rivers at the 2.

I am more concerned that its the same knee "soreness" again.

Injury prone to the max.

I totally cool if he doesnt play all preseason but seriously how is his knee supposed to hold up and help this team win?

Okay, now I'm beginning to be a little bummed.

If that guy is healthy and plays he can be a true difference maker. But we'll see if it happens.

I still maintain that the franchise had to match t he Phoenix offer.

Sucks that he's still out, but at least it isn't an actual injury. If it's even something minor then they won't let him play in meaningless preseason games, so it may not turn out to be anything except soreness from strengthening. Let's hope that's the issue.

Until Rivers develops a consistent jumper, he is not an 8-man rotation player.

I'll take 60 if he's in for the stretch.

So in your mind, Rivers averages how many minutes per game?

where are the days of the greats that played all the time. Eric Gordon is starting to become a huge pussy.

If you want to be considered a great start playing and acting like one.
