Ahh okay. You're cool man.

the best option (though I doubt they will make it considering they barely make any for MLB teams) would be a low profile version of the Crescent City logo
This hat has a very high crown, which is wearable but doesn't really fly that well.
This NYY (not a fan, just using as an example) hat is a low profile crown made by New Era. It is a much more traditional look. I wish New Era would make this style for all their hats.

"Crescent City Pelicans" or "Louisiana Pelicans" > "New Orleans Pelicans"

No love for this flex fit?
Love that one. It was my first choice but they sold out in my size. So I settled for one of the '47 Brand hats. I'll definitely be getting this one too.

I hate flat bill hats something fierce though.
You do realize the bill isn't cast in 3/4" steel, right?

The basketball flat brims do NOT fit the same way as baseball hats once you curve them.

They are both made by New Era and are the exact same bill

False.
MLB 5950s are made in the USA.
The vast majority of other 5950s (NFL, NBA, minor leagues) are made in China, and are exceptionally shitty. I bought a Saints sideline 5950, and it's of such shitty quality that it's unwearable.
I emailed New Era customer service. Never heard back. I posted something about it on their facebook page, and they didn't respond. Deleted my question, though, so there's that.
Mitchell and Ness does their fitteds in Vietnam now, and they're pretty good, quality wise. The Chinese-made New Eras feel like knockoffs.
Before you buy a 5950, flip it over and look at the tag. If it's made in China, do yourself a favor, and put it back on the shelf.

Interesting. I did not know that.

you ever try to form a flat bill? it would look awful. Its not the same, at all. everything about a flat bill is made opposite of an unstructured cap.

It's the one I'll be getting. I detest flat brim hats (and I'm aware that baseball hats come flat, it's NOT the same with basketball hats) and those '47s look like denim.
That's the one I bought, it's a great hat. really comfortable fit.

Dick's in Metairie has the regular logo flatbill and the crescent city logo flatbill
I got the regular logo flatbill and already curved the bill and shaped the crown to my head.

quote:how easy is this to do and how well do they come out? I have always bought flex fit because I like my shite curved but my watermelon size head is inbetween a large and xtra large so they never fit great. I would like to buy a fitted but not sure how it would come out if I curved it myself

I just put the bill in a mardi gras cup over night and it turn out perfect.
You have to do this every once in a while because it tends to loose it's curve but it is as easy as just putting it in a cup from time to time.
As for the crown I just filled the inside of the hat with steaming hot water for a few minutes (not the bill) and then put the hat on my head, then took my hands and molded the crown to my head and wore the hat until it dried, or while I played play station.
Came out perfect. May do this one or two more times to get some bumps out and so that it shrinks a little.
I bought a size up because when I used to take a shower with my baseball hats they would always shrink afterwards.
