Pretty sure Bird already came out and said that EG10 would not be a target of theirs. Not because of his talent level but because the owner refuses to go after RFA.

ah, but what if he doesn't sign a deal this offseason and just takes the tender and is a UFA next year?

that's MY worry. if he does that he has a deal in place with another team, imho

There is no way Gordon(with his injury history) is going into this season without a long term deal from someone, it's too much of a risk when he's going to get big time money now

my worry as well since we traded for him. That he would just take the Qualifying offer and then become an UFA.

Y'all have to remember in Eric Gordon speak he's saying this is the happiest he's ever been in his life.

Doesn't Danny Granger's 5 yr deal with Indy expire in 2013?

Hopefully he wants to come home? I'd take that trade if two homies choose to opt out.

"In contact season, I will say anything to drive the price up. The more people think that I can go to a larger number of cities, the larger the demand will be. Since there is a fixed supply of me, this will drive the price up, which makes me happy. These comments are all I can do to achieve that end when we are not playing. If I end up somewhere I like, bonus."

This is what I hate about NBA players. If you dont want to stay let them know so they can get somthing for you.

The guy doesn't like the city and it's obvious.

The only negative body language and reaction from Gordon came in the immediate aftermath of the trade when he went from a young up and coming team in a huge market to (at the time) the biggest mess in the NBA.

I don't think even the harshest NBA observers (Wilbon, Thorpe, Hollinger, etc) could deny that the entire Hornets franchise has done a complete 180 in terms of trajectory over the past 6 weeks or so.

We went from literally the biggest mess in recent major professional sports history to having one of the brightest futures in the span of little over a month.

The man's choice of words show his lack of enthusiasm in my opinion, and that's ok. It's very understandable. Not many people outside of new orleans would choose to move there to work. It's not a nice place to raise children, work, live etc compared to most sports towns.

eta: People say things like "it's pretty good" when they don't like something (a job) but they want to sound positive to please other people when asked if they like something..

Seriously. Extracting that quote from an interview and trying to make it significant is beyond silly. I have no idea how Gordon feels about re-signing with the Hornets. But the posters who are constantly beating the drum about New Orleans being a crappy place to live are beginning to embarrass themselves. It's like it's become a personal crusade on their part.

Ignore this douche. To take that quote as a negative is insane.
