If we lose Jrue, would Payton be possible to acquire and, if so, would he be a good fit?

Someone who could push the ball and dish to our two best players down low..we'd still need to acquire some shooters (korver maybe?) to stretch the floor but we should have a little money if Jrue walks for nothing.

Also, it looks like this draft is loaded with guards so if Orlando takes one, he could be easier had then before..

Just racking my brain with ways to make our team better if in fact we lose Jrue..

Yea I mean you're right but he's almost like a cheaper version of Rubio who would definitely cost you more...I'm just looking at it from an assists standpoint..I don't really want him shooting it if I have 2 top 15 players..

I don't think we can replace Jrue if we lose him but we may be able to acquire a pass first guard like Payton if all else fails..

Opinion from a guy who watched him play A lot.

I would love Payton in here. He can't shoot from outside or FTs to save his life but he is a great passer, can get to rim and finish above the basket, plays good defense and probably finished Top 5 for guards posting Thriple doubles.

With boogie and AD we don't really need or PG to be a 25pt scorer every night. We need a facilitator to move the ball and feed the big guys down low. Bring in Payton and get a SG who can hit from outside.

Payton would constantly post 15pt, 10+ ast and 7 Rebs here.

Sounds like it would be a good fit if we can manage to get a couple of floor spacers. We need at least one or two guys on the court who can shoot the 3 at 37%-40% consistently.

He'd be a good fit if we upgraded our shooting on the wings.

I'm more curious to know if acquiring Fournier is possible via trade and if so, what would be the cost?

While I'm not 100% certain, the guys on the BSS opined that Moore, QPon, and a protected first would be a strong possibility.

I tend to agree.

I think if we keep Jrue that deal is still possible.

I'd be happy with the off-season then. I still am of the camp of S&T Jrue somewhere if at all possible.

Would still need to find a wing player and a couple of backup bigs. I wonder if they'd throw Hezonja in that deal? He seems to have fallen out of favor.

I also wonder what the contract demands of Jonas Jerekbo would be?

It all depends on the market. there is much less money in the market.
MO it will be very smart this year to leave some flexibility deeper into offseason.

There will be interesting players available...
For a cheap price

I think we'll be in a situation where we use both the MLE and BAE thus hard capping ourselves but depending on who we get that may be our best option to better the roster
