Does Henry have much upside?

Shooting was supposed to be his thing but usually good shooters can hit free throws. He seems to slash to the basket ok, but unless he finds the shot that made him a lottery pick he's basically Ariza without the elite defense. I'm willing to give all of these young guys a pass until they've put in an offseason of work, but I think Henry may be the most disappointing player on the team.

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. He had a pretty significant injury that I'm sure hampered his conditioning. Give him an offseason and we'll see. If you're looking for 20 ppg upside, then no. 10-12 off the bench potential IMO.

He had an off night on free throws, but he did take two hard falls on his wrists, so let's give him the benefit of the doubt. As for most disappointing player, I think that's all expectations-based.

I'd have to go with Aminu as the most disappointing.

i feel like it's too early to call anyone disappointing. little offseason to get used to the system, young player, etc. i'ma hold off judgment until next year for most of these guys.

that said, aminu has had ups and downs (more downs), but he seems to be starting to play a little better as the season goes on and he gets more minutes. i'm still hopeful he can be an 8-10 ppg guy of the bench with 2 or 3 boards

I want Aminu to be good so bad. He is so athletic. I love it.

i think that's kinda the hope i'm holding onto

i would never compare his game to Durant's, but he's got that same kinda lanky, awkward frame and shot that works so well for KD. i hope Monty can develop him into a defensive machine and get his J working better.

I think it's best to wait until the young players get a full training camp under their belts before making judgements.

That's what I'm saying, my expectations for him were pretty high. He was drafted in the lottery based on being a shooter. He's shooting 40% from the field and 35% from FTs this season. That just seems really bad for a shooter and I don't think conditioning is an adequate excuse. Joe Gerrity said watching his play isolated in synergy sports made him seem like not a good natural shooter and everybody piled on him saying he was wrong. I'm starting to wonder if he was right.

Not that bad for a guard or SF. Its certainly not great at all, and I would like a wing player to be at 46%-ish or better, but a player coming back from almost not playing at all for a year and having very little experience, its a start.

I do want more out of him though. The FT% is pathetic.

Seems like we always end up with young guys who are very athletic but never seem to do much with it.

I think he has a big upside if he can develop more but if not then...well then I will be sad.

That gave me flashbacks of Julian Wright.

Hopefully he'll bounce back from his injury and start to play a little better. I had high hopes for him, but there was probably a reason Memphis was okay with dealing him.

Having no offseason and being on a new team is tough, but it didn't seem to affect Lin.

Lin isn't coming off of an injury, though.

All that said, the guy has 17 FTA. That's not exactly a solid sample or even enough to find his rhythm. He's basically a rookie this year. He definitely needs to bring the number up, but last night was the first time he has shot under 50% with more than 1 attempt. He has only had 2 games with more than 2 attempts, also. I just don't know that it is a useful statistic with such a small sample size.
