Houston's defense at the PG position is absolute poo. Terry and Prigioni were not good defenders even when they weren't 38 years old.

In the series with Dallas, the only thing really giving Houston trouble is that they were having a hard time stopping JJ fricking Barrea.

Rivers is having a good series, but he will never get an easier match-up.

Did everyone forget how bad this guy was here in New Orleans, or more recently that he fell on his own face trying to make a move to the basket. This latest good performance is not what he will be playing like for the rest of his career, it is a fluke. It was a great move to get rid of him.

All i know is that austin sucked here. I honestly was pulling for the kid here hoping he would develop, but it just never happened. Btw, he has one good game and now he is a freaking all star or something???....cmon, give me a break! He did the same shite here.

by MrPel F Austin rivers. Where are the Anthony morrow threads? Where are the Marco beleneli threads? What about jarret jack, aminu, Jason smith? All those guys have performed since leaving this organization so why so much attention on rivers? What's done is done. Posting about his only successes is pointless. Dude sucks period, and every player i mentioned all have performed better than him since leaving this organization so why all the rivers hate? Yeah, wasted a 10th pick on him, but let the dude play and suck it up himself. No need to start this Austin Rivers post game thread starting trend my God.

All those guys were ho hum here except for Morrow. I liked him a lot and I don't think anyone wanted him to leave. But he was due a good payday and we couldn't keep him.

Rivers showed flashes here - I still remember that Phoenix game his rookie season (or maybe it was his second year) where he simply couldn't miss and lit them up for like 40. The I remember the many other games where he would dribble out the shot clock and take a contested jump shot or a desperation drive where he wouldn't hit the rim. He showed flashes but that was about it. Until he can show he's a consistent contributor and doesn't make boneheaded mistakes I'm not losing sleep over it.

BTW, Pondexter is a much better player to have in my opinion. He stretches the floor, can handle the ball while not being ball dominant like Rivers, and plays defense. Austin is still an atrocity on defense.

Was this in summer league? I just went through the game logs and as a Pelican he has 3 games where he scored 20 or more.

27 vs Minny rookie year
20 @ Houston last year
21 vs Portland this year

Even the Game vs. the Clippers his rookie year that I remember so much excitement about at the time where in my mind he beasted and won it for us, he only scored 14 He has a career average of 12 points per 36, there haven't even been many flashes.

27 was def his rookie high. He played decent at the end of his rookie year and 2nd year but the negatives outweighed the positives. Horrible free throw shooter and dude couldn't make a layup to save the team. I just wish the attention on rivers would go away bc he is not on the team anymore for good reasons(n Cole/ Pondexter). Posting about Rivers so much lately is too similar to the amount of posts about La'El Collins, which got overwhelming really quick.

You need to tell that to Sportscenter, not us.

These rivers posts are just getting eerily similar to saints talk on tigerdroppings with numerous La'El posts. Not that I'm providing any quality offseason information and not that I ever do anyways, it just gets old is all. But, since there's nothing else to talk about I see why it has exploded as of recently.

Rivers sucked here.

Rivers wasn't wrong that the LAC scheme is more free flowing and suited to him not looking over his shoulder.

We got QPon out of the deal all you people freaking out. You don't think Memphis fans are going WTF right now either?

Give me QPon at his contract over Rivers all day every day.

People with that work ethic always find ways to be semi successful. That I've never waivered on.

He has one good game. Go look at his numbers and his PER... Same crap he was doing in New Orleans. Some of you worry me sometimes. One great game and the "I can't believe we let him go or he just needed to develop chants come out." Pretty comical.
