Do we resign al farouq if we draft burke?
Posted by Bigcurly2343 on 5/8/13 at 9:33 pm00
I like the idea. this is assuming we save our money for next year and go after a superstar in free agency 2014. plus with burkes, gordons, andersons, and davis's ability to score, all we need is 7-10 points from him a night.

nah. i'm on a jason smith high right now. give him that money. dont let him play his last year without a deal. cause if he balls out....he gone!! aminu might not have shown enough promise to get a good deal.

Really? i think it would be a good starting lineup
Burke, gordon, aminu, davis, lopez
with aminu's length all he has to do is dunk, rebound, and play good d, and he does all of those. I'm not saying he is the long term guy, but a good player for now. Also i hear he is working on his shot alot this summer

Burke, gordon, aminu, davis, lopez
Sounds like a winner

it is a winner. i dont know what your seeing, but last time i checked burke is a great scorer, passer, clutch, and led his team to a national championship game. That is a lot different then vasquez's slow passed, ball hoggish, forced shots kind of game.
if you want a championship you will need an elite pg and that is what burke will be in 2 to 3 years and will be a solid starter in his rookie year.
It is also a winner because gordon will hopefully be healthy, aminu will hopefully have a better jumper, davis will be stronger and better, and lopez is a solid starter.
sounds like a winner to me.

i wouldnt mind aminu starting but the other four would have to be cp3, ego, ad, and cousins/d12.

he's fricking horrible, no.

his strengths are defense, rebounding and running the floor both ways. bad thing is that he's a sf who cant shoot or create shite for himself. just athleticism

He'd be a solid backup. He's gettin heat here, but he's not as bad as they're making it out to be. Our defense was several points better with him on the floor and he rebounds at an above average rate.
Unfortunately, he doesn't do the whole other side of the floor. It's a shame he can't shoot just well enough to keep the defense honest, Ariza-ish, then he would be a solid starter.

Has any rookie PG ever come in and made an immediate all star type impact? It seems like it even took Rose, DWill and CP3 a year or two to get going.
And Burke wil be good, but I don't think anyone expects him to be those guys.

It's plain and simple.... YES.
He won't command big money on the open market, Monty likes him & we gave him serious run on the court when he was on the verge of being considered a bust.
He's still young, extremely athletic, freak on the glass for a SF, & has the potential to be a stopper on D. I think he's a very good piece as a starter next to AD while we upgrade the PG position and we simply pair him w/ another shooter at the SF position in FA or possibly the draft.

I would not mind keeping Aminu. But i fricking hate Lopez and i think he is garbage. He can barely even rebound.... Piece of shite
We should keep AFA if the price is right (ie pretty much the minimum with team options). He'd be a great guy off the bench for rebounding and defense. I wouldn't necessarily want him as a starter though.
Adding Burke, Martell Webster and Pekovic (longshot I know), with Ryno, Smith, Vasquez (Or Burke), Rivers and AFA coming off the bench is a roster with a lot of potential.

Gordon and burke will be manhandled by westbrook kobe wade harden and anyone with decent size. Very small and slow backcourt... no thanks
So, you argue against drafting a PG by listing a bunch of SGs? Legit.
As for slow, that's nonsense. Burke is not slow. Also, Gordon was slowed by a knee injury, but the dude is quick as shite on the first step
