Giving up on the season, giving Cheick and Buddy 48 minutes/game.

The pels team is basically d league plus AD so he may as well join them.

The Austin Spurs next game is Friday. Pels next game is Thursday and with a few days off maybe they'll have a practice. I wouldn't be surprised if he flies back to Austin on Thursday or Friday for the Spurs back to back and then back again to the Pels with the Spurs having another 4 day break.

if it is about "process," clearly they need to prioritize Diallo and Hield developing. they aren't making the playoffs, plan/play for the next 3 years...not the next 3 months
unless they think Diallo will just get killed out there, they should keep him with the Pels and give him 10-15 mpg every night. Hield should see 15 mpg every night.
if they suck, no worries. at least it can be a teachable moment for young players. can still ride Davis/Holiday to about 35 wins
ETA: of course, this situation is where bad ownership kills this franchise. what I described likely won't happen because they want wins now. so Gentry/Demps play the hand to keep their jobs.

Unless they've had enough of Terrence Jones too, I just don't see why they're bringing him back other than they want his extended off days to be spent with the Pels, not the Spurs. Maybe they should reconsider that plan though, let Diallo spend the whole year soaking up Spurs culture.

they could give him Ajinca/Cunningham front court minutes and steal a few minutes from Davis.... even next to Jones. maybe not the most natural fit, but all he would have to do is run, rebound, and defend as he best he can.
how long before he "misses" flights?

I just feel like they need to do one or the other and stop back and forth. I'd much rather him getting minutes than Ajinca when you aren't making the playoffs. Just 5-8 minutes a game and maybe not even every game.

I agree. What's it going to hurt? It's not like you're expecting anything from him other than hustle. Sure he might have some break downs on defense, but that'll just fit right in with the rest of the idiots.

I forgot about Cunningham still being out for a while to come.

you know times are bad when....
some pels fans are gloating about a 4th big w/ maybe the worst offensive game in the league being a good deal at $10M annually

outside of AD and Moore, there's not much to be happy about. Gotta come up with something.

I think Galloway and Jones have both shown that they're the kind of expiring useful vets playoff teams trade future assets for. We're not talking firsts, it's not like we have Jeff Green, but maybe you can get a young prospect from a shooting challenged playoff race team like the Grizz/Bulls/Bucks.

I like Diallo.
But, man...
Folks are really investing a lot, and setting themselves up for disappointment imo, being this wrapped up in his day to day development.
Diallo's a center, with center "skills", in a small forward's body. Even if he works out for us, he's just an energy guy off the bench. Thats solid for a 2nd rounder, but not changing the trajectory of whats going on here.

What else are we suppose to do? Keep wondering if Reke and qpon are alive? Wondering when Dell gets fired? We are just trying to stay chill and find something to talk abut

I have some remedies that have always got me through the tough times. Everything I thought we were building since drafting AD has gone to shite. We are in the dark ages once again.
Post CP3 was a time where I was smoking the devil's lettuce just about every day. That helps, and warm beers are often comforting. I'm talking about sitting all day in your truck in august warm. I would often be drinking, chiefing, and chewing an assload of tobacco when viewing games of the New Orleans basketball franchise.
Pick out a scrub player to be irritationally high on. A past example: "I think Lance Thomas is going to develop into a 20-10 guy one day." We have plenty of them to choose from, so take your pick.
This is basically what I do when we have a lottery pick type season. I have often gone with some friends to Walk-ons and drank enough brews to kill a rhinoceros. We got so tanked one time that we were screaming at Celtics fans heading to the arena. You have to make this fun somehow
