#Pelicans likely to start Darius Miller tonight at SF vs. Kings, with Tyreke Evans sliding over to SG in place of Eric Gordon.

I remember last year against the kings @ home, pels were down by 18 and Rudy Gay was going off, they put D. Miller on rudy gay and he shut him down. pels went on a run and cut it to 5. then the second half started...with no D. Miller in... you can imagine what happened next...

That's a good decision. Hoping Darius has a big game.

I honestly think that he can be a solid player. The Pels don't need a superstar at the 3 just someone who can play good D and shoot just good enough. I am on board with this and it should have happened long before glass man got injured (again).

obviously that would be nice, but miller has been completely invisible so far in short minutes. i think that the plan all along was to have miller soak up SF minutes, but he has done nothing to justify that

stranger things have happened though

So who do we want to finish the game? Rivers? Or do we go big with Asik (assuming he is healthy), Anderson, and AD?

you got it.

Darius Miller is confusing. He seems like he can be exactly what we need at the 3 but in the minutes he's played he has been invisible this year.

I thought Miller was going to be a plus for our bench when we drafted him

29 minutes in 4 games.

Why didn't they pay him more is what I'd like to know. If you were lowballing him you could have gotten him for the minimum probably, and if you were overpaying him to make him a more valuable trade chip then you should have given him the full $2.7 million of the exception. Having $700k leftover in an exception is completely useless.

My personal theory is that Benson set a limit of $75 million for payroll. It's a nice round number and that's pretty much where the team is at when you add Asik's off cap balloon payment.

Omer Asik (back) was able to get in some practice on Monday.

Asik's back has been an issue for a week now, so it's good to see him get in some practice. It's nebulous as to what exactly he was able to do, but some progress is better than no progress. We'll consider him iffy for Tuesday's game against the Kings.
I don't like the sound of this

He has done nothing to earn any more minutes either. at least when Babbit is out there he's not afraid to shoot. Miller's passiveness or lack of confidence has been a problem since day one and he has shown no improvement since he has been here.

they made it seem like it was very minor and that he may not even miss a game before we played Portland. now here we are almost a week and a half later and he still isn't likely to play. wtf?

worst medical and training staff ever. I'm starting to think we are too hard on Gordon

yeah but there was a more optimistic tone even before the Portland game than that.
