I am assuming he is still hurt? What do you think the Pacers would want for him? Obviously he doesn't seem to be in there future plans plus he is pushing 30 (I think). If he was 26 I would say ship Gordon's arse over there for him but I am not sure that would be a good move based on our "rebuilding". Just trying to find out what the experts think.

He is going to want to get paid, or play for a contending team. I see him landing in Dallas, or Houston TBH.

I saw a trade rumor with Portland packaging some stuff together for Granger and playing him at SG (or move Batum to SG). They figure if they add one more scorer, they can make a big move.

We should find a way to trade for Granger, Thornton, and Bass. frick injuries and lack of production, they're from Louisiana so they HAVE to be awesome!

I know you are being making a joke about it, but they are decent players and wouldn't make the team worse. Plus it might be nice to have players on the team people actually like and want to support.

I think a lot depends on whether the Pacers win or not. If they win it all they may not be as hungry for change. His trade value is very low right now so if they fall short I could see them doing a straight dump of Granger to free up cap space to add another FA or 2 to the mix. They'll be in win now mode so giving up #23 to dump Granger seems reasonable.

I was just curious about what he current situation was. I never said he would be a good fit for this team. I was just wanted to know everyone's opinion. Thanks for yours.

You need to stop going to whatever site that was

Granger has a chronic knee condition, is currently injured, and is older. If we can't get anything for Gordon no way they get anything for Granger. They are going to have to pay to get him off their books and they may well do that because if West resigns for the same amount and they dump Granger they would be $14 - $16 million beneath the cap. They'd need to replace DJ Augustine and resign Tyler Hansbrough, but that's a lot of money to work with and they are winning enough to be attractive to top FAs.

They'll also have to throw a boat load of money at Paul George the next season, so this is really the best chance to add a big money FA to the core for the next 2 years

I'm sure it was an article off of Grantland and they throw alot of ideas out there. But, if they buy out Granger, and he is healthy, then he becomes the 4th or 5th biggest FA available (Paul, Howard, Bynum, Smith,..?). Plus his position is a huge position of need around the league. There are tons of teams that need a decent SF, even just for a season or two.

Weird thing is, if they amnesty Granger, and he goes to the bid process. How high would a team have to go to get him? That would be an awesome deal if it was only a Brand level bid (2.1m)..

Ah, yes. I remember the season when he was shooting like 30% from the field but he could still be our PG of the future.

Granger's deal expires after the coming season. That is a bit of a plus. He's Rashard Lewis that may play for you, basically, considering his buyout amount, not contract amount.

So, they can get something for him likely. Maybe not much of a help, but something.
