makes sense if they are trying to tank so hard

It is NOT an automatic DGranger will get a buyout from Sixers. Keeping him for sign-and-trade options this summer holds appeal for Philly

But Granger clearly does not want to be in Philly and is expected to push for his release to try to work his way to Miami, OKC, SA, etc.

Granger's camp said to want buyout ... but he'd lose his Bird rights going that route. So lots to talk about in those "discussions" w/Hinkie

He's going to a contender like the Spurs or Thunder. Please don't let this turn into the Saints Talk where every free agent becomes a thread.

I'd be surprised if one of those contenders had more to offer than our disabled player exception. But I doubt that he would come here for ~$2m more over going to SA/Mia.

Nobody wants that dude. He's not any good. There's a reason IND didn't want him.

Dude has false hope if he thinks a contender is going to pick him up.

Can you even use the DPE without a roster spot? We have a full roster with Babbitt.

Heat got rid of Roger Mason to open up a roster spot. Riley is a smart man. He is headed to the Heat.

Indiana didn't want to pay him, a contender will definitely take him for a bench roll for way less money.

Teams will be tripping over themselves trying to be the first to get in on this 35% shooter from the field.

At this point, Pelicans will have to waive a player to use the DPE for the reason you stated.

I think Granger is a name that sounds good because he hasn't played in like 2 years, which is last time he was a good NBA player.
