Lakers are a dumpster fire now, and will be even moreso if they somehow get the fourth pick.

Ain't nobody going there regardless of the Russell drama.

So why start a thread and make multiple posts about how big a deal this incident is for the Lakers future FA hopes?

You want a thread about how dumb Buss the Younger is or how Byron Scott has maybe set back Russell's development by a year, or even how big market isn't quite the attraction it used to be, great. But this isn't it until the bait and switch here.

Lotta people heckling D'Angelo right now in the stands. Lots. This is not good. Or fun. Or good.

I don't know what a cornerstone player being hated by the fans looks like, but...wait a minute, I do know what that looks like. Gordon has gone from being reviled to a significant amount of you jokers actually wanting to resign him for $10ish million. Time heals all wounds, especially when attention spans are getting shorter.

I'd like to know what they consider heckle. Probably just some light hearted ribbing.

I agree, this will be a non issue. LA fans want a winner first and foremost, and they. Red Russell to be a party if that

PS if a poll was taken I'd bet 90% of fans would not want any part of Gordon back on this team

The general population of fans maybe, I think it's higher than 10% on this board. Maybe that's changed with the most recent reinjury of his injury, but being the #2 3 point shooter in the league last year earned him a decent amount of good will. And then it looked like history was repeating itself, in the 4 games he was back after his injury, he was shooting 48% from 3 after a lackluster start of the season.

I would have definitely wanted to resign EG after last year.
But this year reminded me he's made of twigs and berrys and can't stay healthy.
I would not object to keeping him for under $6 million a year. Nothing more than that. He's not in his prime, he's getting older, and he's always hurt. He's not that good of a player when healthy to demand much more than that, if you ask me.
Kyle Korver makes under $6. EG isn't in the same hemisphere as Korver.

I don't know what EG is going to get this summer, but i would bet that if he had become a FA last summer, he would have gotten more money than he will this summer.

I don't recall much 10m talk. I saw some $5-6m being a talking point and $8m being the holy crap, that's probably too much but that's Demps and our unfavorable cap situation for you.

You seem more jaded than your usual self lately. Your posts are more flamey than informing. You're arguably the best poster on this board next to corndeaux. Don't lower yourself into our filth

There just hasn't been as much information to talk about. I posted 3 news stories yesterday, but that was pretty unusual. I have been intentionally negative on some things and haven't argued people off the ledge as much because this franchise needs to feel what little heat fans on social media can provide. There needs to be some serious organizational change and I'm just afraid they won't make it.

That seems kind of crazy to say considering how they fired Monty last year after making the supposed mandates, but Monty supposedly gave his own "it's him or me" mandate which forced the franchise to make a move. The only thing that will force the franchise this year is pressure from season ticket sales, and perhaps pressure from partners like Fox Sports for the plunging ratings and Ochsner for all the flack the team doctors are taking.

Benson doesn't want to get rid of Loomis, in fact it sounds like he may be failing sideways from the Saints and into a larger role with the Pels. Loomis bet on Demps by letting him pick Gentry. Can Loomis fire Demps and not fire Gentry? Can Loomis fire Gentry and not only eat about $7 million but hire an even more expensive coach to replace him? The changes they need to make this year are much bigger than choosing Monty or Demps, they need to make a potentially costly decision on Gentry too and you just don't have much useful data on him to make that decision with the potentially historic injury situation. For those wanting to say his previous track record is all you need to know, the Pels brain trust obviously disagreed with you because they hired him knowing his track record.

Also, this whole story is one of the most ridiculous sports stories I've heard in a while. Am I really supposed to care about some bullshite locker room drama from a team that has won 15 games this year?
