Are the Hornets not working out Lillard to make Portland think they are not interested so Portland will pass at 6 because they think they can get him at 11 but we can snatch him at 10?

They're not working him out because Lillard is being a count about working out with other players on the floor with him.

Technically I think it's Lillard's agent that's the count. But I agree, there's no smoke and mirrors strategy here, they just don't see the benefit of watching him run one on none drills in person.

This.

His feeling is "I blew everyone off the court at the combine, so I'm done with group workouts."

His agent is. He worked out against players at the combine. When he entered the rarified air of 5-9 range, his agent did this. It happens a lot.

Lillard has never faced competition successfully and us delaying it as much as possible.

Anyone enamoured with him, as I see it, is ignoring this stupefying example of both cowardice and admission of inferiority.

And, he's being that thing he said.

I guess what yall are saying is his agent won't let him work out but why can't we see him individually?

We want group workout for people that aren't Davis.

We can. He was willing to do an individual workout.

We want group workouts, only.

I thought that at first too but after the combine he hit his draft ceiling. He wasn't jumping into the top 5 and most mocks had him going 6. There was literally no benefit to group work outs other than convincing people that wouldn't have the chance to draft him anyway that he's not afraid of his peers. It was the smart move to make.

There's video of his individual workouts on line and all he's doing is a bunch of drills. They probably interviewed him at the combine so making him do drills would give them no new information.

Why not tell him it is individual and then make him play with JJ and Vasquez? Can we let him play with our players?

I 'hear' you. I respect you. I disagree here in a rare instance. I agree he should do individual workouts only. I disagree that he's properly slotted. If I draft him, it's to trade him before the season.

I need no fear on this team. I want mean, carnivorous, YY types with average IQ or higher.

I say this with all due respect, because I like you: To say he is "fearful" because he will only do individual workouts is asinine. And ignorant.

It is quite common.

I have no clue how the draft went from all the guards besides Beal being 20ish or later to possibly having Lillard/Waiters/Rivers all go 6-10. There is either a lot of reaching or a lot of bigs were overrated and have fallen, which has happened a bit.

Lots of movement with the bigs for sure.

Drummond, Perry Jones III, and Sullinger all lost between 5 and 10 spots from where they were initially projected.

Yeah PJ3 and Sullinger were both top 10 picks

I think the guards are rising due to need. DraftExpress didn't even take need into account until about a month ago on their mocks. Lillard was consistently around 10 for most of the winter. Toronto was always going guard and Portland has.always had the need, but too many teams behind them are in the same boat to get who they want at 11.

Teams have fallen in love with Waiters, apparently Jerry West wants him bad at GS. That one stands out to me as an interesting rise.

I understand that my opinion is unpopular. I accept it.

It may be asinine, as well. I can be to focused on some things, and I reactively dislike the 'new hotness' at times.

It is not ignorant, however. I do not.know his mind, but I've seen this before and I researched the guy for a piece. I think he has nowhere to go but down by working out.in groups, so it's best for him.

Maybe he's one of the many exceptions to this rule of mine, but i think it holds in the majority.

Good discussion, all above board, and not picking. Just.clarifying what I am and am not saying and thinking... and why.
