want him to win. I'd rather see that then for him to get fired. I'm just reluctant to give him a pass for his results than most do. Coaches get fired every year for the same thing. Why should it be any different for him?
Probably because most people realize it takes time to turn a franchise around. The Hornets were a disfunctional small market team when Monty arrived.
He gets a "pass" because players improve under his coaching. He's not perfect, but nothing he has done warrants his firing. If this fan base is expecting to "win now or hit the road," then they will be in for a long ride.
Where would the Thunder be if they fired Scott Brooks after having terrible seasons? Or Boston after Rivers had 2 straight losing seasons early? At this point of the rebuilding, it isn't all about winning, it's about improving. And this team has improved.
