Chris Paul has been told to prepare for a trade from the New Orleans Hornets, according to sources familiar with what is transpiring in New Orleans. Although we predicted yesterday that the Hornets will likely deal Paul within the next few days to the Golden State Warriors, Paul is said to prefer the Clippers, who are also now said to be readying an improved package for Paul as it becomes more and more apparent that Dell Demps will look to rid the organization of him ASAP.

While the Clippers have so far refused to give up either promising shooting guard, Eric Gordon, or Blake Griffin’s BFF, DeAndre Jordan, it’s hard to imagine them forfeiting the possibility of pairing Chris Paul with Blake Griffin for the foreseeable future to keep either non-superstar. Clearly to get a player of Paul’s caliber you have to be willing to give up substantial talent in return.

Man, as much as I've always liked the Clippers deal, I've really pumped myself up on getting Curry in the past few days.

I would love to have Curry, but I always preferred getting Gordon, Jordan, and the 1st. Hopefully that's a possibility.

i don't get they hype over anything the clippers have to offer other than the timberwolves pick. I don't get the big deal about any of the clips players...

I don't think Paul's wishes really enter into it at this point unless the Clippers are willing to up their offer to us based on his wishes to play there.

exactly. the only names that have been brought up worth taking a look at are curry, and rondo. frick bledso and gordon. we have nobody to count on taking the big shot or creating it when paul leaves, so get someone who can. cause if you dont have that guy on the team, you finish 9 or 10th in your conference.

timberwolves pick.

Could change the face of this organization. Gordon and Jordan are very exciting, athletic players and are only getting better.

You really believe Rondo is better than Gordon long term?

People have obviously never seen Gordon play. He and Curry are different types of players but couldnt be closer as far as talent level is concerned. They bring almost the exact same value.

ESPN ranked every player in the league a few weeks ago, I believe Curry and Gordon were right next to each other at 38 and 39.

I personally prefer the Clippers also. If we get Gordon and Jordan with Minny's pick it will be perfect. If we get Curry, I feel as if we will remain mediocre. But if we have that pick, we have they chance at a top 5 pick and getting a potential franchise changing player, (i.e., Barnes, Davis, etc.)

If we want Curry so bad, flip Gordon to GS with someone, if possible.

the clips have not offered EITHER gordon OR jordan. why do people keep saying we're about to get both?

If they give us Gordon AND Jordon AND the Minny pick, that is pretty much a slam dunk. I wanted Curry really bad, but its hard to pass up a deal like that.

On top of it, he'll be playing for Donald Sterling, which will be sort of amusing.

Bringing Rondo here would be a disaster and Demps knows it, thats why Ainge is begging other teams to get involved.

Rondo needs other stars around him to be successful

Then GS would have two SGs.

And the Clippers look like they aren't willing to give up anything but the pick and some shitty players. I'd honestly call everyone's bluff and keep CP3 into the season. I think the offers will improve once they worry about more teams getting him straight up in FA.

That's what we're asking. If CP says he will go to the Clips, he may sign an extension. They may cave in come Friday and offer what we ask for. Just like the article said, it's hard to see them pass on the opportunity of putting CP next to Griffin.

If they aren't offering Gordon + 1st and possibly + Jordon, I see us taking the GS deal.

I would hope so. But if we take any other deal with LAC that give us the pick, we're gonna tank for sure. Possibly 2 top 5 picks. A lot to think about for Demps if this is the situation he's in.
