@chadfordinsider If Chriss went to Duke and Ingram went to Washington who would be the 2nd pick?

Tough call Bill. Probably Chriss. But very, very close. - @chadfordinsider

Two I've heard lately: Bigger Shawn Marion or Shawn Kemp w/ a jumper. - @chadfordinsider

Still think Lakers take Ingram. But Chriss has a ceiling that's similar. But his floor is lower. - @chadfordinsider

So looking like we may have multiple options to choose from the perceived top 6. Ford also linked the Pels to Bender (said Pels and Suns really like him) as well as Dunn and Hield (seemed like speculation, but pretty obvious).

Sounds like he would be in play for Boston or if someone trades there. Interesting.

Ideal situation would be he goes at 3 and Bender goes to Suns.

Maybe I'm being overly optimistic, or I'm just blinded by the joy of actually having a pick this year, but it feels like we're getting a really good player no matter who is there at #6. This draft may not be that deep, but the top 7 has some serious talent.

I honestly don't know who, in the end, is boom or bust. Have no idea what happens draft night.

But I'm feeling better about the Pelicans having the opportunity to draft a contributor.

Keep getting the feeling that Chriss is fools gold. I get that he is uber-athletic. However, he does not rebound or play defense.

Yea we need defense that's why I think kris Dunn needs to be the pick if he's there because him and holiday would wreck havoc on the perimeter against other guards plus I think he would be a good playmaker in our up tempo system

There's a weird bias going on against this draft's hyper athletes. Most draft's hyper athletes actually.

Jaylen Brown is often called the one most likely to bust. Now that Chriss is getting ground swell, it's shifted to him.

I've been watching tape on Dunn and I must say, he is growing on me A LOT. His handles are top notch, his defense is top notch. He just needs to work on ball control when driving and his jump shot. It would still be hard for me to see us pass up Hield if he is there when we pick. I think Murray will be a solid role player, just not a star like Hield or Dunn can be.

meh... he'll be a great role player for a team, but he's too slow afoot to be a stud at the NBA level....

i'd love to get a scorer like Hield, and think he'd help, but I'm firmly in the Dunn camp....

He's been talking up Chriss for a month or so now and been saying he will go top 5, maybe top 3.

Washington has 2 guys that are going top 15. How did they not make the tourney? I know they are freshman, but they had two really talented players and did nothing with them. Either they need a new coach, or these two cats aren't that good. They had a senior who scored 20ppg as well. Something is fishy about that. Crappy Pac-12, other than Oregon, and they didn't do to well.

People really don't understand how drafting works. Its not about what a guy did that year in college. Its about what you think they can do. Chriss has the perfect size, weight, athleticism, and jump shot. He's play very well for someone who only played basketball for 3 years. So if he continues on the path of development with his tools he can be a really great player. Stop looking a draft prospect like Buddy thinking College production=Good NBA player. College and NBA are entirely 2 different games.

So if you say that college and NBA are two different things, why do we look at what a prospect has done in college to determine what they could do in the NBA?

They look at their skiil sets and how the grow along with the tools they have. Look at every NBA player quote they all say the same thing about college the games are played so different.

So the fact that he does not rebound or play defense will translate well into the NBA?

And when it is all said and done, he will probably go 8-12 as originally anticipated. Media has to have someone or something to hype.

He's 18, like I said he's picked up the game really fast for someone who just started playing 3 years ago. So they are hoping he continues to be a fast learner as he has shown.
