Moore, Hill, and Pondexter gets the job done per espn trade machine.

Melo has a no trade clause and so far he's only said he'll waive it to play with LeBron or CP3. He's also trying to force the Knicks to buy him out so he can go to the team he chooses. So I doubt he oks a trade to the Pels.

Melo has a no trade clause and wants to the Knicks to buy the rest of his contract out
Melo wants to play with an already perennial contender
Also we have no money

I think for him to get two things:
get in a good temporary situation competing with his friends AD and DC
and he can become a UFA after this upcoming year. Obviously he can get this in New York but playing with Pels for a year I think makes him relevant again in NBA.

could care less what others say, i'd take him in a second.

i think its one of the better plays pels can make to become an instant contender. 8th seed in west, you might as well not make playoffs. Gotta contend in those 3-6 spots.

We are one of the last cities maybe even last that Melo would consider going too.

i call bullshite. He's got 1 yr, optional 2nd he can get out.
Gets to ball out with AD and DeMarcus. I don't buy that he wouldn't consider this if his other option is not being bought out in NY.

This may be a dumb question, but don't we have a pretty good starting PF?

I seriously doubt that. I can't see a guy not want to play on a team like the Pels for a year over staying on a shitty team for a year where you are no longer the star, and they don't even want you there anymore, which that team made publicly known. Can't think NYC means that much to him.

His wife is an aspiring actress and according to the ESPN talking heads, he isn't leaving NYC for a small town team with no shot at a title.

We are not paying Melo $30M (plus going well into lux tax) for one season. Melo isn't waiving his no trade clause to play here. He does not care about playing with AD and DC. He wants to play with his friends (Lebron, CP3) or he wants to stay in NYC to party and be the lead option.

Melo can no longer guard SF's. He is a small ball PF.

He's listed as a Small Forward or Power Forward, but plays stretch four. He's too slow to guard the three. What position do you consider Porzingas?
Serious question btw.

I know all you hardcore NBA guys love to tear posters apart who suggest things like the OP brought up. But in the meantime, Tom Thibodaux (who, ahem..was TOTALLY AVAILABLE) decided to go to the fricking Timberwolves and turn them into a machine.
Meanwhile Dell is sitting around not doing shite.
We have AD and Boogie and with the western conference making moves, we're just standing around getting shittier by the day.

You don't know this. While I'd love for us to go out there and absolutely fleece another team in a trade (like he did during this past season), it's not always possible. Our situation is really tough right now so navigating the offseason for the Pels is likely really difficult. Of course, Dell got us into this mess so it's on him.

We fleeced the kings for Cousins
Most think that the trade for butler was relatively even. Depending on what you think about Dunn.
