I know people were saying that the screw was causing him pain, so it might need to be shaved down or removed. Hopefully this is a good thing.

I don't know if it will help, but it shouldn't hurt. The screw was meant to keep the rod in his leg stable while it healed and it's no longer necessary.

The screw is a good thing. People have post surgical pain all the time secondary to hardware. His bone is obviously stable(it only strengthens and matures for so long Structurally before you're essentially as good as you're going to get from a bone tissue perspective).
