New Orleans Hornets G Austin Rivers suffered a fracture of the fourth metacarpal bone in his right hand during tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers. Rivers is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with the injury.

sucks for his continued development, but I don't think this really affects the team in the W/L column much.

Sweet. More Roberts and more Mason sleepwalking on defense

If AD hadn't already dealt with injuries this season (to the point where another would get people REALLY nervous about his frailty), I would almost prefer he had been injured to Rivers. We know what we're going to get from AD next season. He's going to be a beast. But after an atrocious start, AR has shot ~48% since Feb 1st, played very good defense, and looked tonight like he may even bring his game to whole new level the rest of the season. Now Monty will have to determine if Rivers has shown enough over the past ~16 to roll with him as our go to guard off the bench and focus on the 3/5, or use cap space on a solid FA.

He can come back if it's closer to 4 weeks.

I tend to agree with you, though.

With Rivers, frankly, I think he'd come back if he's healed. Dude is a pro, at least on the inside.

What happened?

Was watching w/o audio and had no idea he was hurt. Thought Monty just wanted to keep his confidence up after a great first half

His hand hit Vasquez according to the TP.

Watching how the 20-0 run happened. Then I'll go check.
