It's cool that he's saying this and all, but it's not like CP didn't say the same stuff when he signed his 2nd deal.

Yea? Minds can change, that's what happens when an organization ends up in shambles and you don't surround the star player with talent. So you surround your star player with some mother fricking talent and make him happy. You get good coaches around him, and you get a fan base behind this team. You win games. It's pretty simple. If the organization fricks this up I could see him changing his stance, but until then lets focus on the positives and not letting that happen you goddamn debby downer.

Actually, I never really remember Chris coming out and saying stuff like this. I could be mistaken though. He's always seemed very business like more so than pleasure when it came to NO.

Yea, things change but hearing stuff like this is nice.

CP3 showing up in this thread shows how irrational the hate for him is.

Everyone should be ecstatic with the organization right now. Front office, ownership, CBA, TV deals, coaching, players are all a plus that allow us to compete moving forward.

agreed, but none of this happens without Davis
once you get your star, you can sit at the big boy table, but until then, there's danger at your door

CP3 is history. Things may have been different if ownership had been strong, but it wasn't. It's sort of irrelevant now.

and that is all.

Sure we didn't get a Wiggins in the trade, but we got AD.
Be happy we got AD and not MKG.

Not really. Just comparing how the players were amongst their time here.

Some people get overly defensive everytime his name is brought up though. You can appreciate what he did and still not like how he went about some things.

There really isn't a comparison between AD and CP3... when Paul left we had no stable owner, threat of the team leaving, practicing in the Alario Center and Paul didn't sign the 5 year max on his extension.... I just wish people will stop retracting to his situation because it's not even close to the same.... Paul mind raped the city of New Orleans making them think any star is going to leave and it's just not even close to the case anymore.

I agree... I was just saying i dont hate the guy. Just that i dont think he ever really embraced NO. Which is fine but praising AD doesnt mean hate for CP.

I believe Chris Paul truly did love New Orleans. If you can stand it, go watch his Clippers introduction presser. The first five minutes or so is Chris paying homage to New Orleans, almost to the point where it appeared he had forgotten he was there to talk about his new beginning with L.A.

But the state of the franchise back then was in shambles. And they tried to appease him by signing a bunch of high-priced guys who chased money rather than give a damn about winning. Looking at you Trevor Ariza and James Posey.

If CP3 had been in the same structural situation AD is, things might have been different.

But let's just be grateful to the basketball gods that we even got a second chance at a generational player.
