Ok. Let's first start by saying I love AD and he is a top ten player in the league and will likely be a top one or two in a couple of years. He is a freak of nature and has an incredible work ethic.

With that out of the way, was the stat line last night that incredible?

1) It was in overtime.
2) it was against the Celtics.
3) he played 48 minutes.

So his .2 pts above Durant 48 minute average is that impressive?

Not being an arse. Serious question?

He made more than 63% of his shots, had 21 rebounds, 3 blocks, and went 12-12 from the line as well.

I also think people underestimate how difficult it is to score 40 pts without shooting a single 3 pointer.

He's the only player to do it since Shaq in 93.

Question for you. In 21 years since Shaq did it, is AD the only player to play against a bad team that went into overtime?

He had nearly every point before overtime. And it takes playing that much to put up those stats. You think KD and LBJ are playing 30 minutes when they put up crazy stats?

This is one of the most idiotic arguments I've ever seen

It wasn't an argument. Thanks to the people who weren't sarcastic or demeaning and actually put it into perspective. I thought I posted in the OT for a minute.

We have the future GOAT.

yes, considering the fact that it would put him #1.

Add on the fact that he's 4 years younger and is only in his 2nd year in the league.

Also consider the fact he's putting up a statline that no other player in history has ever done.

How about this. The only players to EVER put up this statline:

20ppg
10rpg
2bpg
<2 TOpg

Anthony Davis
Tim Duncan ('04-'05)

Yes but that's comparing a season average versus one night.

Shaq didn't? Or was it that he had the TO's? I know he had a 20/10/3 season in 93 but don't know about the TO

Yes. Anytime a player has a 40/20 night its amazing and rare. I dont care if you play in OT. If you play in 4 OTs or whatever, sure itll inflate the #s a bit. But 1 OT, not so much. Only 18th time in the history of the NBA that someone had a 40/20 night.

And AD didnt score a point in OT. In regulation he had 40pts and 15 rebs. And when he was within 3.5ft from the goal, he got the rebound 21/22 times or something absurd like that.

And its amazing to think that he turned 21years old a week ago. So yeah.... his accomlishment is amazing.

shaq had 2 seasons where he had ~3 blocks and he turned it over 3-4 times.

Shaq averaged 2.7 TO for his career
yao averaged 2.7 TO for his career
Duncan averaged 2.5 TO for his career
garnett averaged 2.3 TO for his career
