This.

Probably most fun I've had at an NBA game. Best part was the Hornets won the game.

Is there a backstory to why he just bulldozed Griffin? Was that a payback shot? Did JS get suspended? That is an awesome gif but I'll be honest I don't even remember it.

It was such a surreal moment where sports intersects with real life. Roger Goodell was in the middle of railroading the Saints when this happened. The people felt unfairly singled out and powerless to stop that bully Goodell. I'm not saying that's why Smiht did it, although he was a Saints fan that went to games occasionally, but he will always be welcome in NOLA because he gave the people a sense of power by doing to an equally dislikable person what most of us wanted to do to Goodell.

IIRC there were some fairly questionable calls leading up to this. Blake had been doing his usual flopping around like a bitch bit. There was some frustration in the building, hence the crowd going primal apeshit at the cross check and standing O on ejection. This was in our tank for AD season. Guys played hard, and we didn't appreciate the pinstripes giving us the business against THAT team (CP3's return to NOLA wearing a different uniform).

Yes, he got suspended 2 games for it.

Also IIRC the clips were closing in that game. Jason did that and kept the crowd in it. Pels won that game and if they had not this franchise would not have AD. Amazing how possibly huge of an impact that play had on NOLA basketball.

That made it worse for his fall too. Idiot could have injured himself more just to sell it more.

Blake Griffin is probably the worst of the good players in the league.
