Yes, it could come down to that. Or if we do operate above and it's so far above that we bump up against the lux tax, we might stretch in that case too

for everyone calling for an immediate stretch for asik, the way the CBA works and the way the pels salary situation is, they will have more room for salary with asik's contract than without it

it's ridiculous but it is what it is

I think you can do both things. You can get below the cap (trades, stretch Etc.) sign some guys, re-sign Jrue to get over the cap and have the MLE.

Not legal. The only way you can use cap space is by giving up your exceptions.

I wonder how much it would cost for Minny not to match Shabazz. Think he has potential to be a solid starter and they were apparently looking at trades for him.

The guy has talent for sure

In the right circumstances I think he could have a near waiters level impact.

We aren't going to need both Cunningham and Casspi, and Casspi is one of Cousins' friends so I think he wins if you pick between the 2. Maybe a S&T of Cunningham and some other minor assets could get it done?

Really have no idea what it would take. Just seems like he's gettable though, given that he was in trade discussions coming up on his RFA summer.

If we choose to not make a major trade i would try to clear a bit of space and get Hardaway and Muhammad.

Holiday/Frazier
Hardaway/Moore
Muhammad/Hill
Davis/Diallo
Cousins/Montiejunas

Would it even be possible to sign Hardaway, Muhammad, and Montiejunas with potential cap space?

Yes. I dont see Hardaway and Muhammad getting big time money due to lack of consistent playing time. Montiejunas hasnt really gotten consistent minutes either which is why i dont see him fetching that much. Could be wrong. If I had to take one it would probably be Hardaway. Hes not as good a shooter but hes the better defender and all around scorer

I dont see a scenario where Washington doesn't match.. but shite if we can make a solid offer that would be huge. Hes gonna give u 14 pts 5-6 reb 2 assist and shoot over 40% from 3.. exactly what we need to become a contender
