Would you dress up for a concert at the Ryman?

Going to see Punch Brothers there tonight. Wife thinks it's a more dressy place but I'm sticking to jeans and a t shirt. Might switch to a button down since it'll make her happy.

Uh, when I went there I wore a Tshirt and jeans... Everyone else was wearing about the same...

Of course, it was Brand New/Manchester Orchestra/Kevin Devine.

Man nobody cares, it's a concert haha

Been there many times. It will also be fairly dark, as again, it's a concert.

You have to walk through a metal detector to get in, so if you carry a pocket knife, leave it in your car.

If you have a time machine and are going to 1952 to see Hank Sr., you may need a shirt and tie. At least slacks.

Today, not so much.

Negative

Beautiful venue, but I never got that vibe in there. If anything, the Fox Theatre (Atl & Oakland), and the Louisville Theatre give me more of that impression.

Depends entirely on what your woman does. She dresses up, you dress up, she dresses down, you dress down. I could care less what other people are doing.

What did you think of the show and the Ryman itself? Best sounding hall I've ever been to, though there are other great ones of course.

I believe I did dress up a little bit when I saw Nickel Creek's final concerts (at the time), but it was also freezing cold outside.

It's a concert. Wear what you would wear to see them anywhere else.

I've been to the Ryman probably 20 times. No need to dress up. Although I'd wear the button up anyways.

I think the punch brothers is a more dressy atmosphere for a concert so nice jeans a button down and maybe a jacket if it's not too hot. Otherwise just wear a nice looking tshirt and throw a sports coat over it and it always looks pretty musicianish and stylish
