Of course for those of us who attended concerts prior to auto-tune and backing tracks, this will probably be a little easier.
Mine....Earth Wind and Fire.

ZZ Top
Saw them on the Recycler tour in 90-91. Might as well have just stayed home and listened to their CD's. They may have played a dozen or so live notes all night. All fricking backing tracks while they were flipping their guitars around like in their music videos. I was extremely pissed off even though i got my ticket for free.
Puddle of Mudd
Horribly untalented. They were part of the Carnival of Madness tour in 2010. Other bands were 10 Years, Sevendust, Chevelle, and of course Shinedown. They were the worst band of the bunch and the lead singer was getting pissed because no one was into them and not really paying attention while they were playing. I spent their entire set standing off to the side bullshitting with Lajon Witherspoon, the lead singer of Sevendust (dude is fricking tiny. I am 6'4" and towered over him). The funniest thing about their set was that the singer brought his son out to play guitar on a couple of songs and his son blew him out of the water playing.
David Lee Roth
Saw him when he was solo. He was so drunk he couldn't hardly stand up much less sing. It was awesome to get to see Steve Vai, though.

Rage opening for U2. That crap was horrible.
And even though he wasn't horrible... Randy Travis. He opened for Conway and Conway thoroughly kicked his arse

Smashing Pumpkins was terrible live.
Most disappointing concert I've ever been to.

I know they aren't super popular, but 5 finger death punch was truly awful live, especially compared to their album.

Agree with RHCP post Frusciante. Just awful chemistry and Klinghoffer puts me to sleep

Black Keys at Jazz Fest a couple of years ago.

That was definitely not their best moment.
However, I saw them several times in the early days and once more recently. When the three of them get down to business, they play some kick arse Texas blues.

They are a hit or miss live act. When Corgan isn't playing rockstar and screaming on stage, they actually are quite good live. I've seen them 4 times, and 2 where bad while 2 were good. The acoustic set at Saenger a few weeks back was fantastic.
Red Hot Chili Peppers at the '92 Lollapalooza was not good. I heard going into that night that they were not a good live band, but I was stunned at how bad they sounded.
Rage Against The Machine also was bad the one time I saw them. They played a full 45 minute set and was done. When they played they weren't terrible, but they weren't very good neither. Playing for 45 mins put that over the top though

saw them on the same tour and they were the first band to come to mind.

You mean the barbershop quartet at the end of their show didn't bring it home for you?
Godsmack opened for Metallica at a show I went to in 04...they weren't very good. In fact, they were bad. Additionally, I agree with Jerry Cantrell that they should be paying Layne Staley's family some royalties for using that name.
ETA: I wasn't really familiar with and had never seen the Flaming Lips before I saw them at Echo Project in Georgia in 07...hands down, worst singing I've eve seen/heard live. I think it was the end of a tour for them, and Wayne's voice was scratchy and super weak...it was beyond awful. He would have been better off not "singing" at all.

I've seen Red Hot Chili Peppers twice live, and both times were horrible. So bad I lost all respect for them as a band and have an irrational hatred for them.
They're not really all that popular, but String Cheese Incident was pretty awful when I saw them.

I saw RATT in like 1985. Queensryche opened for them and they were so bad everyone sat down and the lead singer cursed the entire Centroplex out for not being with it.

I could never bring myself to see them live again. Once was enough. Maybe they are better now, but in '92
